Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Oil Dipstick

My 94 has a broken handle on the oil dipstick. I have a 1996 dipstick and tube assembly that is a different length than the 94. If I change to the 96 tube, can I use the later model dipstick?

I do not know what the difference is. You can get a new dipstick thru Genos for $25. 95.

You could change the oil using the correct amount of oil for your truck and then check the oil to see where it comes to on the stick. Then you will be able to know whether or not you should add oil.
