Oil Drain Plug Specs.

Does anyone know off hand what the torque spec. for the oil drain plug is? It seems to me that it's 40 ft/lbs, but I'm not sure where I got that from.

The 2000 Service Manual says 44 foot-pounds. Some are stopping at 40 foot-pounds.

Don't do it!

My advice is to do it the old fasion way - by feel. I torqued mine to 40 on my second oil change. On my 3rd, I thought I was going to rip the pan apart before the plug would break loose. I think 40 is just too tight. I just go by feel now. No problems.
