Oil Filter?

Is there any reason we can't use the Fleetguard LF3894 on the 2011 6. 7? The LF16035 and LF3972 both work for ALL years '89-'12, so why not the LF3894?

It will work, it just doesn't have the fluted bottom, which makes removal more difficult.

Geno's shows the 3894 for the 24 valve, so maybe the 6. 7 has higher oil flow, I would be concerned, it may work, but isn't approved for that engine, warranty repairs could be declined if something happened to the engine, it isn't worth it, if you have some sell them and buy the correct filters,

I have several I purchased for my 98 12v. It is the same minus the flutes. I am using them on my 2011. I confirmed with Geno's that it was the same.

I've put almost 120k miles on my '08 using whatever I had on my shelf. All are Fleetguard from Genos but there's a mix of some filters left over from my '06 and later supplies ordered for the '08.

No harmful effects.
