This just goes to show ya.

I designed the flute pattern to fit filters for the CTD. Come to find out, the flute pattern is pretty universal and fits a lot of different filters.

I also designed the beer holder for a Bud bottle and it seemingly fits a Corona bottle too:D (hope you had a lime twist in that nasty stuff  ) LOL

Apparently the guys who bought the socket to use as a paper weight haven't figured that out yet:rolleyes:

-Jeff

PS I'll warrant the ability to hold a bottle too :-laf

Hahah yeah the only reason I was drinking it is because I had a bag of limes laying around that were gonna go bad. Good enough excuse as any to start drinking! ;)

will it work on a 2001 dodge 2500? thanks. .

Yes, if you use the newer filters with the fluted bottom edge. According to all sources, the flutes are the only difference between the filters.

I just pay paled for mine. Oo. My first oil change is coming up.

I'm jealous! I think I'm going to have to do the 500 mile break-in oil change on mine (so basically the second day I own it!). Not because it needs it, but because I want to use this beer coaster for what it was intended. :-laf

Who was making these and are they still available? I don't see anything in the classifieds, I realize this thread is fairly old. Thanks for the help.

TDR member Jeff Hardwick made them, don't know if he still has them. They are a thing of beauty and work well. Gino's may have had a few, you might give them a call

I bought the last one. Jeff shut down his machine shop due to foreign compitition, or at least that's the way I remember it. Very sad. Hope he's doing well.

Bad news for you guys with the Hardwick Ent. , Inc oil filter tool. I just bought a new case of oil filters. The flutes on the end are slightly larger and the tool won't fit. :( The new filters have the right number on them (16035) but are labeled differently than the old batch. I supose there's no chance for a recall on these is there Jeff. :) I guess my tool will become a paper weight, or maybe a beer holder. I was assured by the filter supplier that there is no difference in the current filter, but putting the old and new one side by side proves otherwise. Off to buy a new tool... ...

I noticed the same thing with the last batch of filters I bought but assumed it was just me. Mine's not a paperweight though since it still gets enough bite to do the job.

Mine does not fit. I tried to force it and simply chipped the paint on the oil filter. I'll have to figure out a way to modify it.
