i had a leak from a heater hose and during hose change when i went to refill coolant i noticed oil around the inside of the radiator and cap and oil in the coolant....i drained coolant and there is a film of oil on top of the drained coolant now...not alot of oil but still a concern for me...been looking around forums and sounds like my oil cooler leaking?? i see a mopar pn of 05104874aa for around 500.00 and i see a cummins pn of 3959031 for around 90.00....is there a difference between these pn's....looks like i need 2 gaskets to go with the cooler...truck has 260k on it now and no probs with cooling system before...still orig water pump and all hoses and thermostat....i did blow up the turbo at 236k so i replaced it with reman turbo and turbo hoses and exhaust...i thought id replace the water pump and thermostat while i have it apart...looks like most people say to get oem pump and thermostat???
any recommendations or info would be appreciated...thanks

Cummins for the parts, water pump and thermostat or there will be problems. The oil cooler is going to be lots cheaper thru Cummins also.

Once you get it changed pull the thermostat and use liquid dish soap to clean the oil out of the cooling system. Add a 1/2 cup to a clean water fill and run it till it gets warm. Drop the lower hose and repeat as many times as it takes to get it clean. If you don't have a lot of oil the hoses might be OK, but if they have never been changed I would replace them once it's clean.

Cascade works wonders and does not suds up. Its cheaper to get your Cummins parts through them as opposed to Ma Mopar. Mopar inflates the purchase price, sells it to the dealer, dealer marks it up for their profit. Remove two of the mouths to feed and buy from Cummins.
