i have a 1998. 5 ram 2500 with about 190k. i was changing the oil yesterday and removed the hose from the turbo when i changed my oil filter. anyway right by the silencer ring on the turbo there was a little engine oil. does this mean my turbo is on its way out? its not making any weird noises just want to make sure. thanks

I have never seen oil there on my truck. I do all my oil changes. Just some white residue thats been there since 10k on the odometer.

do you have and oil type like a K/N . If you over oil it will show some trace of oil in the turbo. If you dont have that type of filter then it is not normal. At 524,000kms I never see oil in my original turbo. Hope that helps.

its the stock filter and hose. there wasnt alot of oil. but the bottom of the inlet was a little wet. there is hardly any play at all in the turbo and it seems to spin freely by hand. any ideas?
