Steven -
On two occasions I found a little oil on my pan bolts near the passenger rear of oil pan, sprayed it w/ simple green and washed away the residue. I also relocated my drip bottle after that and I've been watching, but have not noticed any more oil on the bolts.
Truck gets great mileage, has terrific power, negligable oil consumption, and nominal blow by in the drip bottle @3,750 mile intervals, no signs of oil contamination or premature discoloration.
I haven't identified where the traces originnated from as I found no loose pan bolts, leakage up top on the VC or filler cap and the oil filter assembly was dry. As best I could tell the rear main seal may have wept, but it doesn't appear to be leaking. Just wanted to share my experience thus far. Rig has 11K+ miles now, running Mineral oil and Stratapore filter.
