The right side of my engine is coated with an oil film, which has happened once before. The dealer fixed it, saying the oil return line from the turbo needed to be "re-aligned" but thats all they told me. Now, 50,000 mile later, it has happened again. I have replaced the silicone hose (and clamps) that mates the rigid return line from the turbo with the rigid inlet tube to the oil pan. No luck. The oil film is so extensive, it's hard to tell where it starts from. Is there a gasket between the rigid turbo drain line and the turbo housing?

JRS,

Yep,

There is a gasket between the oil drain tube and the turbo. Its Cummins Part # 3519807. Probably about a buck. I have had to change mine a couple time when swaping turbos. I have never done it with the turbo mounted on the engine though. I think its two 10mm bolts. You will need to scrape the old gasket off both sealing surfaces. It may be a litte awkward working at that angle, but it' simple fix.
