Somewhere in the last 145 miles today i've lost a quart of oil to the bottom of the engine and the ground. Oil dripping from area around turbo. Top of oil filter appears dry. Noticed oil spots on back of truck camper when I stopped at a rest area where I'm at now. Initial plan is to drive 3 miles to nearest town and recheck oil level tomorrow. 40 miles until Spokane, WA. Home is an additional 254 miles east.

Suggestions?
Monitor oil level and limp home? How fast can it dump 12 qts?
Find dealership repair place in Spokane? Shops to consider?Name and number of a TDR Travel Companion in Spokane?

and with the 2 mountain passes on the way home, i'd make sure your oil isn't leaking,
maybe the filter not tight enough, the turbo feed tube?
those are my two thoughts.
a stay in CDA is always nice though.

Rest area a noisy place to try and sleep ....

Before I start driving will put paper bowls under the turbo lines and filter to see where and how much comes out after high idling for 10 minutes. Hoping for oil return side ...

Solved. With daylight determined no smoke out exhaust. Oil was leaking / spraying out at about 1 quart per 30 minutes.

Source of leak were two little holes in the side of the oil filter, were the hose to the intercooler hose clamp screw assembly touched the filter when the engine was under load. Happened to spray exactly onto the turbo oil feed line ....
