The dealer did not have relay and couldn't find one in the state of Florida. Did find one

1K miles away for $180. Called Geno's they have in stock just the relay for $13. 95 and had it UPS to dealer. I ordered an extra one just in case, this is the second one I have replaced. I might recommend us 2nd generation owner have a spare to avoid the shuteown. I was traveling with my RV in tow.

Oil light came on because engine died, not that the engine died because the light came on, losing pressure. My 2 cents worth.

You sure it was "fuel shutdown relay" because that relay only is for the pull up coil(when starting engine) on the fuel shut down solenoid. There is a hold up coil powered the ignition switch on the fuel shut down solenoid that keeps the engine running.

For $180 sounds like it was the fuel shutdown solenoid they were looking for.

Latest: Shutedown relay arrived from Geno's. Now very hard to start, checked hoses OK chech fuel pressure and found it needed a new pump that is the one under the fuel filter. P&L $416. I have no options as truck is 75 miles from home.

you're right there cost me $5 bills and 5 star dealer couldn't complete repair said didn't have capability to resolve problem. Iam going out and get truck, found answer on TDR, overflow valve on order be here tomorrow. $90 problem solved.

Now the rest of the story. Dodge dealer told me they have no parts or manuals to repair trucks that are over 10 years old. Maybe this dealer is the exception. Picked up my truck had to reprim fuel 4 times to get home 55 miles. overflow replacement $90 should arrive today. Got hit for $600 from dealer he did replace the lift pump but drove out with the same problem air in system. I question the need to change pump. Wonder why we are forced to independent repair shops.
