Time to reopen the oil temperature issue.
Does anyone have the Cummins spec's for "normal" and "hot" engine oil?
Having the oil temperature prob at oil-filter is not the ideal place as there is prob does not have sufficient contact with the oil - the oil pan is the hottest place.
Also, cooler engine oil will stress the rest of the engine and cooling system less, extending the engine's life. Granted, this knowledge is based on gasoline engines. Can anyone provide either a counter point or supporting evidence on this topic?
