Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Struggles to start

Electrical problems

I have been away for a long time. My 2000 4wd has been rusting in the backyard since 2011. I just recently bought a 98 24v 2wd that is pretty much stock, it does idle at about 8mph and the trans shifts firm so it feels like someone has been in there, but the HP is biting and I'm getting reading to take the injectors and trans from the 2000 and put them in this one but I need a better turbo. I did a search but the threads all go back to 2005/2007 and there isn't anything about the new turbos available .

Where have all the hot rodders gone ?

Thanks for any help you all can give .

Welcome back. Hot rodders (Bombers) are far and few between nowadays. There just aren’t many 2nd gens left on the road and the new trucks come with so much power stock there really isn’t a need to modify them like the old 12+24 valve days. That’s my take on it anyhow. As far as turbo shops some of the old reliable like industrial injection, BD Diesel, fleece, high tech turbo etc are still around. Hook up with one of them, tell them your goals and see what they recommend.

Welcome back. Plenty of Bombers left on here.

Yeah! I loved my 2001.5 for 14 years and many thousand of dollars in upgrades. Turbo, injectors, Edge Comp, DTT custom transmission, exhaust brake with DTT smart controller, gauges, lift pumps, steering box brace, 3rd gen track bar, on and on. It served me well.
