I had a 2004. 5 (600) truck long bed, auto with 373 rears. I towed an 10K 5th wheel for a few years. Now Monday (in my 2010 auto 373 gears) I'm heading to Vermont to pick up my new 5th wheel that weighs very close to the old 5th wheel. I'm just wondering how the stocks trucks match up. My 04. 5 really did great when I added the smarty JR, banks exhaust, afe intake. I have an afe drop in now but probably won't go much farther with the mods. I really like the features of the 2010 just wonder about the power and new trans stacking up with my stock 04. 5. So how about it?

You'll find the six speed automatic and the exhaust brake function of the VGT turbo vast improvements over your previous truck.

I wouldn't give you a dollar for the new OEM brake controller though.

Wow! I towed my new 5th wheel 357 miles. It has the Trailair EQUA-FLEX and the Trailair rota flex pin box. This truck towed it so well that power wise I hardley knew it was there. I do need some air bags though. The suspension felt just slightly mushy at time. This trucks feels better then my 2004. 5 with the smarty JR. I believe the difference was the transmission and turbo combo.

Very Impressed

same towing capacity

I almost traded my truck in for a new 2010 until I researched some info on the tow ratings. compared to the new one, the towing capacity is close to the same. Within a few hundred pounds. I do not see myself paying 50k for a truck that tows the same as mine. Maybe if I win the lottery.

I don't blame you Dan. if I hadn't gotten rid of my truck almost two years ago I would have never bought a new one. I couldn't believe how much the trucks had gone up in pricing. The new trucks have some great upgrades like the trans, turbo and exhaust brake but not worth upgrading if you do have to. Something better will come out in a year or two so hang in there.

keep dreaming of CC Dually LB

I keep dreaming every time I look at a new truck. Then I think to myself I don't want to be in debt the rest of my life every time I get a new truck. But if the right truck comes along then I just might do it. I have always wanted a true CC Dually LB.
