Competition What gear to pull in?

Off Roading Baja Proven Suspension

You have got to check out this video :D

I talked to Peter at South Bend and I was determined to get one of his "IRON GIANTS" after seeing some East Coast Guy's pulling with them (you know who you are) :-laf at IRP. I ordered up the 4200lb plate load, with Bronze/feramic inlayed flywheel and when it arrived I open the box and was truly impressed with flywheel assy, its a fine piece of work in fact my wife got all kinds of ****** when I told her I was going to take down our Wedding picture and hang the flywheel in it's place :-laf

Anway, I drove up to vist the fine folks J&H Performance in Redding were we installed the clutch before the pull. At the Yreka pull which I had never attended before I was quit supprised to see a fairly tight track at least for out here, and I didn't bring my other set of tires so I was forced to run the 35"x14. 5 Boggers.

Anyways, I spooled her up on the line and started easing out the clutch then when I let it out BAM !!!! that baby hooked so damn hard and spun all four boggers, they were screaming for mercy :-laf

This is truly the end all clutch for me, its proven in my mind to be an awsome clutch, I have hooked it three times and it has performed flawlessly.

This is a good quality video and can be blown up full screen you might want to lighten it in the Windows Media settings.

Check it out HERE

So does what has to be done or downloaded to make it play like a Video instead of a skippy still frame? Scott the full Video of the event plays just fine, it's just this one as well as the E-mailed one... ... same Vid.

Justin: the pedal pressure isn't any dierent then the EEP I had in the truck when it was street driven for two years, I would :D

Jim: yeah same video, and just down load to your hard drive like Nate said.

Man, that thing blasted those boggers so bad, they were BEGGING to surrender!!! (You sure they aren't Michelins-- the *FRENCH* tires? :D:D:D:D)

AWESOME!

BTW-- I know that J. R. Adkins has had a giant in his daily driver for quite a while now.

Thanks fellers,

Name a good running truck that runs one? I don't know of any.

You must not be in the loop :D how about the current DHRA Points leading truck, and 5th place puller out of 75 trucks at IRP in the street diesel class, oh yeah and then how about the 2nd place truck in the Super street class again at the Nationals.

Plain and simple, it hooks, and now its being proven :D

BBD-I wasn't trying to cut you down... hope you didn't take it that way. I am somewhat out of the loop here lately. I wasn't at IRP. Couldn't see spending $30 to watch a pull. You named two decent running trucks. But I still don't know of any GOOD running trucks the "IRON GIANT". Does this clutch run a weighted cover?

Scott didn't you *just* install a Haisley Comp DD before Indy? What happened to it? I know the Iron Giant CLAMPS when you get off the pedal, I've driven JR's truck with it. However, being my skrony 155lbs I'll stick to my 3850 plate load! ;) :-laf

Mine did the same way though the 2 pulls I've competed in this month. Get all the way out of the clutch and BAM it locks and the wheels start spin'n! :D Oo.

Hey Mark, right you are, I did have a Haisley Comp puller in there for about three hooks including IRP, but after driving the EEP for two years prior to the Haisley I just couldn't find myself getting used to the wieghted cover for some reason, just personal prefrence for the switch and of course still staying with something that was SFI Rated. There isn't anything wrong with the Haisley Comp puller other then the wear from the three hooks, it was working fine when I pulled it, and I am looking to sell it ASAP, you might see it on Ebay soon for anybody intrested.

Nate: yeah, ya think I need more air :D I am just sceered with the single O-rings.
