RV battery / Solar panel questions

Damon Challenger 5er

I got nothing but BS from Rancho about this - they said it couldn't work. I used a $15 compressor from Checker, Rancho fittings from Marks Custom Stuff $23, an 1/8" 3 way Swaglock ball valve $29, two gauges and some brass fittings to complete the manifold. Setting 3 on the Ranchos is about 90 psi with the remote system - setting 5 is 150 psi according to Mark @ MCS. It's great to be able to adjust both systems from inside! I'll try to describe the manifold circuitry, if anyones interested. Craig

No kit but here's how I did it. I used a schrader tank valve (tire stem style valve) to bleed off the pressure from the branches. I put a 6/32 screw in the center of the valve cap so it depresses the core when I screw it down. I used a Swaglock B42XF2 ($28) 1/8” NPT 3 way ball valve – the common and both branch ports each have a tee on them. The other two sides of the tees are as follows. On the common port tee, one side has the schrader and the other side goes to my air source ($15 compressor). The branch ports are mirror images of each other, one side of the tee has a gauge and the other side goes to the device to be pumped up. I have both bags on one branch and both shocks on the other branch. I used extra ells where necessary to make the gauges and schrader all point up towards me. The 3 way has a threaded bonnet for panel mounting. I cut 1/8” x 1” flat stock for a bracket and mounted the manifold to the dash with one of the existing lower dash screws - just left of the crash airbag control in front of the floor shift lever. To pump up, I turn the 3 way to the branch I want and turn on the compressor. When everything is pumped up, I turn the 3 way to the center (off) and screw the schrader cap down to relieve the head pressure from the compressor. When I want to let a branch down, I turn the 3 way to that branch and screw the schrader cap down until it’s at the pressure I want. It’s simple and works great! Craig

got any pics of the setup?

I'm actually thinking about putting Rancho's shocks and Airbags on the wifes truck and it sure would be nice to have a setup like to to control both.
