Other than the unit on the destroked.com website, does anyone else make a one wire alternator that will work on my '94 12V? Thanks

He is talking about an alternator.

OK i,m not sure way you want a one wire is there something wrong w/yours?

The engine and trans. are in my Chevy conversion and I dont want to run an external regulator, I want it simple. Plus the alternator that came with the engine is dead anyway.

I don't see why you couldn't run one off a Chevy. I know I put one on my old tractor when I converted it to 12V. You may have to put a diode in line like I did on the tractor. I would think the main worry would be brackets and the pulley. I've been pondering doing the same thing if my ECM, PCM, or whatever it's called ever goes south.

well Destroked.com/PA performance sells one, I was just wondering if anyone had a better price, I'd pay a little extra and not have to screw around with brackets, pulleys and diodes.

the one wire altinators have a problem if the battery gets completely run down (like forget to turn your lights off ) the altinator has no way to limit current and will damage the altinator before the batteries get charged up enough . you are better off using a gm altinator with a built in regulator, i will see if i can find my drawing to tell you witch pin to connect to hot and the resistor size to use on the other pin and with a diode it can be made a one wire
