Anyone know of a place to order the JL Audio Stealthbox, specifically for 03-04, online? I've found a few places that sell JL Audio speakers, but the don't have the box. I tried CarToy's as they are a dealer for JL Audio and the guy said that nobody makes a box for 03-04 (I can think of three that do). Should I try another CarToy's location? I would rather order it online, but I'll order it through a store if I have to.

hmmm, where do those suckers mount? I was wondering about bass options for the truck myself. Nothing ghetto, but the factory sound systems does almost everything well, except the bass.

Jeff... which CarToys did you try? I went to the one in Rockwall last year looking for the same box(but for my 02)... they seemed knowledgable back then. The one in McKinney isn't worth stopping at... bunch of high school hooligans working there at the time.

There is also Hi Tech over in Plano at Springcreek and 75(NW corner)... don't know if they are a JL dealer, but they had some good ideas for me when I stopped by.

Jim, I was at the one in Plano (Parker @ 75). I've been to the one in McKinney and I agree, not worth shopping at. I'll try the one in Rockwall and see if they can order it for me.

ELind, on the 03-04 it mounts under the back seat on the passenger side. You have to remove the fold flat load floor on that side only. It holds a single 10".

Guys I have a brand new - well almost, it was used for 3 weeks - JL stealthbox for 03-04's. I may have changed my mind about building the system I had originally planned have considered selling it. PM me if you are interested. They are approx $500 in most stores. Fits flush under the rear passenger side seat in the storage area and houses one 10w3 JL sub.

I will say that the JL stealthboxes are certainly top-notch in quality and sound. I also had one in my TDI, which also delivered fantastic fit and sound. JL is awesome when it comes to subs/enclosures, and amps.

I have a JL Audio's stealth in my 2001 and "wow"... . that thing sounds incredible! Ordered one for my 2004 in hopes that it would fit under the folding floor (no luck). I can't do without my folding floor so I bought a removable powerbox by JL Audio with a 12". The sound is great... . much better than the 10", but the looks of it sitting on the folding floor is a bit of an eyesore to me. I figured it was the only way to keep the folding floor and have a nice subwoofer.

If you guys/gals know of other stealth type options that I'm not aware of, PLEASE let me know. I'd really prefer a stealth subwoofer that fits between the two front seats -- I just can't find one.

JL Audio subs under the rear seat (QC)

Gotta couple of them 750w subs under the rear seats of my 1 ton Quadcab and have been very pleased. However, in order to get the best performance out of any decent sound upgrade, it's worthwhile considering some sound deadening material for the rear wall, floor and door panels. It's a real PITA having to play musical chairs, but if you do it once, do it right and you'll have no regrets

Good luck!

JL Audio won't let businesses sell their stuff online. I looked high and low for discounted JL Audio stuff. NOBODY discounts it. :)

HemiDart, the link from above, www.nexxon.com does sell JL Audio online and the prices look good. They have the stealthbox with speaker for 500. Also www.acaraudio.com sells JL Audio. I found them last night, but they don't have the stealthbox. They did have the door speakers that I am looking at for 30 a pair less than CarToys and the headunit that I want for 600 less than Crutchfield.

What is involved in relocating the seat belt postition sensor? I think i want one of these things. Right now my entire system is stock and it sucks. What recomendations would you make for a complete system to go along with this sub set up. I dont know much about stereo systems other than i like to listen to country and rock and i want it clean sounding. Not looking for the mega bass rap type stuff just clean tight sound. thanks

That's all I'm looking for too, and that's why I'm going with the single 10" sub. What does the seat belt position sensor have to do with the stereo? Is it in the way of something?

Here are my plans for my stereo. I want to keep all the components the same brand with the exception of the headunit. Clarion VRX935VD (am/fm/cd/dvd) for the dash. JL Audio VR650Csi (6. 5") for the front doors, VR525Csi (5. 25") for the back. These are both component speakers as opposed to coaxials. JL Audio Stealthbox with a 10W3v2-D2 10" sub. A JL Audio 250/1 amp for the sub and a 300/4 amp for the door speakers.

FYI:

My setup: Alpine Head unit, Alpine Type-R 6. 5's up front and 5. 25's in rear, 1-4 channel 250 watt MTX amp, 1--2 channel MTX amp (for subwoofer), 3 stock speakers in dash, 1-12" JL Audio Subwoofer enclosed in JL Audio's "Powerbox".

I was able to fit my 2 MTX amps under the front seats. I relocated my jack to the rear . My subwoofer enclosure sits on the fold out metal floor behind the drivers seat. I don't like the enclosure sitting there, but I was unwilling to give up my fold out floor in order to install the JL stealth box under the rear seat. It was the lesser of the "2 evils" in my opinion.

I love JL Audio Subwoofers... very clean, tight bass sound -- these subs are built for YOUR listening pleasure... . not the entire neighborhoods. If you buy them... . do yourself a favor and ONLY install them in a JL Audio enclosure.

What are the correct speaker sizes for the front and rear doors on a 2001 quad cab?? I would like to replace all the speakers including the factory A-pillar tweeters.

Front doors are 6x9. Problem is most 6x9's are too deep for the doors and require shimming. Rear doors I believe are 5. 25" Not sure. I know they are on the 03-04 and it's been 5 years since I replaced speakers in my 98.
