It looks as though I'll get another 5000 miles from the stock Michelins - I don't think that 42000+ is bad for a heavy truck that has seen quite a few towing miles. The ride has been quiet and smooth, but I'm ready for a larger more aggressive tread. I don't want to lift the front for bigger tires since it sits perfectly level on the overloads when the trailer is on the back.
From reading, I want to go with 305/70-16's on my stock 8" rims, and I was hoping that some of you could share your experience with the different brands.
I use the truck 95% on road, about 10% of that towing a 13000# fifth wheel. A little bit of off-road use in the sandy deserts, and the wee bit of rain that we get in so-cal. Any snow that we see (visit) will be handled by the wife's AWD Murano so I'm not concerned about snow or ice much.
thanks
Damon
