Could any of you that have bought aftermarket shocks for your pickups. BTW My front ones now are RS5000's but the bushings are worn out. These shocks were on the pickup when i got it so they don't have the lifetime warrenty anymore.

I think these shocks are nice but there just isn't enough bushing for this much wieght. Maybe a dual shock kit would help? ANY info on shocks would help alot.

Thanks
Brian

Go with the rancho's Bushings in the shock do not support the trux weight ..... springs do. the shock's job is to reduce oscelations when you go over bumps and deer and varment and... . oh sorry #ad
anyways I love bilsteen's but I am also MAJORLY partial to Pro-comp as well in fact have 'em on now

Rancho 9000s come with polyurethane bushings. Mine have lasted 3 years or so, and are still fine. The bushings don't support the load but take a beating from the oscillations because the shock is resisting the motion. Rubber bushings also are susceptible to ozone, oil, etc.

FYI..... Carl is striping his truck!!!!!! Lotsa cool stuff cheap! He has a set of Rancho 9000s he is taking off. Truck has less than 10K miles. Check out his stuff on www.wwcd2.com His truck is a 99 3500 with a Choo Choo package. Carl is very sick and is selling his 5th and truck and is going to buy a motor home for he and his wife to travel in when he can. I can't believe he has'nt sold the truck the way it is... ... ... ...

Bilstein's!! Order them from Autozone, etc. Someone posted the part #'s a few days ago but I don't recall the post.
They work sweet.

Yet another shock opinion-Edelbrock IAS. They make one model specifically for : a. ) diesel & V-10 2500's b. ) ibid as 3500's so 'calibration' for the vehicle weight should be better than one fleece for all the sheep. Mine seem to improve cornering without jarring dentalwork (the IAS ia an inertial valving-it discriminates a bump from a tilt)…

Skyjacker Nitros #ad
. I ran them on my '95 for 70,000 miles + before I sold it. My 2001. 5 allready has the 2. 5 inch lift with dual front shocks. Nitros all corners. Dual Hydro steering stabilizers #7218.

Ah yes,,Another great shock debate,,While there are many different brands, there are only a few true shock makers,,just like generic foods all you pay for is the NAME,, Now I understand the game here, after using the Rancho's in the past and not being satisified with them I myself researched shocks and decided on the Edelbrock Performer IAS for mine this time,,Man am I glad, what a ride in any condition I've put them in,,Yes they are more costly than most of the others, but, after driving them, one does not have to wonder why,,So short of a true competition shock, only one name for me PERFORMER IAS.....
