Greetings,

I just pulled the trigger on a new Ram so thought it best to rejoin this forum. Had a '92 and received lots of good information to modify it to be as good as it could be. Upgraded to a 2003 Crew Cab 2500 and have had a great time pulling the fifth wheel all over the West with it. The old 2003 is getting long in the tooth and I am now retired and wanted a newer truck with exhaust brake and more "fancy" stuff. Will be posting the 2003 for sale when the newly ordered truck arrives in a theoretical 6 to eight weeks.

Looking forward to getting the new truck and hope to benefit from the knowledge and experience of TDR members so I can keep it running well for at least 10 years.

Dennis

Just replaced my 2004.5 2500 with a 2018 3500 Laramie crew cab with the Aisin trans. What a world of difference! You will love the exhaust brake and all of the fancy stuff.

Good Luck,

Dave

Congrats! I too made the jump to a Cummins. I had a 93 F-350 with a big block 460 and no go-go gadgets at all.

I have a 2018 3500 Mega cab Laramie Sport on order now as the upgrade.

Added the newly ordered truck info to my signature - thanks for the reminder.

I'm like a kid waiting on a new toy...

After much thought and gnashing of teeth, went with the 3.42. Hope the lower 1st and 2nd gears in the Aisin make the difference.

GOOD MAN!!!!!!! I truly hope "I" was an influence in your PROPER decision!!!!!

Put 3.42 in your sig.

Report back when you have a few miles towing.

Added the 3.42 gear ration to my signature. Ordered the truck on February 26th, so will be a long time before it arrives and I can report on towing. May need to check into reinforcing the pin box on my Montana due to the added torque. :)

I ordered my new 3500HD 4x4 CUMMINS/AISIN (non Dully) with 3.42 rear end in February - Are any of you concerned with the problems associated with throttle lag as being discussed on the other forum page?

I think you should just cancel your order right now and not loose any sleep!

Give yourself an additional pat or two on the back, Cummins12V98

Since he eventually disclosed it was a SRW 3500......and an actual pickup....I guess he ultimately had NO choice in the matter. ;)
