I ordered this wiring harness from etrailer.com "Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2012 3500 by Ram" code number 41157. I just unplugged my rear 7-pin harness and plugged this into the existing wiring and ran the cable to the location I wanted in the bed, drilled a 2 1/8 inch hole and installed the receptacle. The harness is about 8 feet long. Pretty easy. As you can see I have a 2014 and this 2012 wiring harness worked with no problems.

BTW, thanks for telling us about that harness. It is cheap and easy to install, and the 8' length makes it more attractive to me than the Mopar $79 harness. I will get it for use with my B&W 1314 gooseneck and 3500 Companion hitches.

Thank you all for all the great added information.
I just went to the Dodge build site and built a RAM 3500 SLT 4X4 Long bed 3.42 SRW. Looks like 12,300 GVWR is the weight is for the SRW. 14,000 GVWR is for Daully's. According to the Ram body builder link for the camper spects a 12,300 GVWR with the bench seats you get 3,500# of remaining cargo. I did not add the Aisin but selected the 68 because i know it would reduce my payload. Did not select the snow plow package. Did add the Skid plate and 220-Amp Alternator, along with the winter package for a price of $49,695. I'm thinking i do not need a Laramie or Long horn model due to the added Equipment and weight will reduce my payload.
My Camper (Wolf Creek 850) as i reported in my first post is rated at 2008# Dry. I always add a 1,000# for the options.
Thanks for the info on the Harness it will make easier to add in the forward receptacle later on.

Yes, the Aisin weighs 160 lb. over the 68RFE. It is one excellent place to add weight and beef. You wouldn't save truck weight by getting the hemi would you? Well, get the trans that is too good for a pickup just like your ordered the too-good engine. JMO. BTW, I have looked on ramtrucks and found a goodly number of Aisin equipped 2013s left. With the steep discounts this month, you could "put one under the tree" so to speak! If you are trying to save weight/cost, don't overlook the ST Tradesman model. It is well equipped and if you get the popular equipment group and uconnect 5, it is pretty close to the SLT while saving several thousand $.

Thanks Joe.
I will look for Aisin and will not over look the ST Tradesman model either. Just wish i had a place to park my Ram, (Live in a Townhouse and parking is for compact cars, my 11 Ford Fusion Sport fits) I hate waiting!

I ordered my C&C with front super heavy duty springs, you might want to ask the fleet sales if option still exsists. I'm on a business trip in Vegas, when I get home I'll look up the code numbers/letters for you.
Here it is as promised.

Code/ SKT ------------------- Description/ Super heavy duty front springs

Yes I did have a merry Xmas, I posted that with my new iPad Air.
Nice. I like the iPad. Would like to get one, but here at the Shipyard you cannot have any cell/ipad/phone/camera
in the yard, due to security measures. So I have a cell phone only (one of the few made) to use with permission from the Shipyard.
Would have to leave it at home if i got the iPad. Maybe not so bad, could use it any time outside.
