I have had 6 qts in mine for years and years. Don't see any leaks and don't know if it is foming or not. Have hauled a lot of dozers and bachoes and still going. 500k miles. I am very nice to it in overdrive. If I am loaded and the booste goes over 12 psi for more than 15 seconds I drop to direct. Also don't put it in OD when loaded till going 55 mph and easy on the fuel pedal till rpm's are over 1650.

I would not put any more in it..... The later getrags did not have an air vent in them... The extra oil my just blow out past the input seal all over your clutch...

I overfilled my transmission by 1to1. 5 Qts. Would putting more in there help or hender? Thanks to all that respond. Oo.

Until now, I've been overfilling by parking on a slope. When filling through the shift tower is it ever difficult to get the shifter back in, ring clip on? Or is it pretty straight forward.

By far the easiest way to overfill is through the top bolt in the pto cover. I've never done it through the shifter, but have heard its a pain to reinstall. Plus thats just more stuff to fool with, shift boot bolts/screws etc.

Some have alot of trouble with the shifter, some have virtually none. It can be a pain though. If you have little or no patience, the shifter method is NOT for you.

I driled a hole twards the top of my pto cover the size of the inside of a 1/2 inch npt pipe elbow. then welded on a 1/2 coupler, screwed in a street elbow and faced it almost streaght up facing rear word a little. I should have used 3/4 pipe so it would be easy to dump in 1 qt. bottles. Still it is prety easy.
