Overhead computer?

I was wondering if my `02 would be wired from the factory for the overhead computer,even though i do not have the O/H console. Have a chance to buy new O/H computer(mileage-compass etc... )TIA.

In all probability, no. There are two harnesses required. One plugs into the back of the fuse panel in the left corner of the dashboard. This runs up the A pillar to the overhead console. There's another short one that connects to the computer. I don't have numbers for the newer trucks, but I did post some numbers for the '99. If you use the TDR search function using "overhead" or "console", you should be able to find them.



The way I found the numbers was to stick my head under the dash of a truck that had a computer, and got the number off the tag that was wrapped around the cable that I didn't have in my un-computered truck.



Remember, if you do any bombing, the computer may not give accurate MPG or DTE readings.

Sort of on this subject.

I have an computer that just has compass and temp. Can I put a different one on and get the MPG/DTE etc... I don't really think its possible, but I'd like to know.
