How is it driving at night with those up there?
No problems at night the gauge lighting is fine, the mirror is ok, but for my height it could be lowered a pinch but I have it adjusted so I can use it, the pod fits in there snug you can take about a quarter of an inch off of it if you want it to fit absolutely tight to the headliner, all in all like it!

Have wanting to add gauges but didn't like them on the pillar (like my handle), don't want them on the column (looks like they would block my odometer???), don't like it on the dash, don't have room in the dash ( have the electric 4wd switch, so the only place left is the overhead. Ken you say it OK for your height. I'm 6'3" would that work for me

I am putting in a two gauge overhead mount - trans temp and boost. Already had the pyro on the SRT-10 A-pillar mount. The only problem I had is with the DiPricol boost gauge. Because of the length of the port on the back of the gauge, the tubing was jammed against the rear of the pod. Apparently the Autometer gauges are shorter. I had to make a hole in the pod and route the tubing on top of the pod in the channel which runs around the edge. It works fine but it sure is tight and there is no way to use the gauge mounting brackets. It looks like the gauges fit in the opening tight enough that the brackets are not necessary. I used the natural beige paint from Geno's and it is an exact match for the factory trim. I think the pod looks great with either color.

Sounds like you have it all in and working, I had a few problems with the same but I used the rubber ring on the gauge as a spacer, especially the pyro, that worked for me. How do you like the gauges there?

Hey Kenny, how tight is it for the Di/Pricol gauges? Now you guys got me thinking about Autometers. I was going to go with the A-pillar, but after seeing yours I might go with the windshield pod. Are your gauges manual or electric? And does anyone know if the depth of the gauges are different between electric vs. manual? Thanks. . John

I'm not sure about gauge depth of Autometer, the only problem I had was the Diprocol pyro gauge I had to space it out with one of the black rubber rings that come with the gauges, I also cut the studs shorter I think on all three gauges, you don't need them the gauges fit tight, Dipricol matches up very close to the stock dash gauges, white face, orange needle and green at night.

Thanks Kenny, I will have to look into it. . But, If Edge would hurry up and make the Attitude with the Edge Ez this would be a mute point. . I will have to wait and see... I heard sometime in Feb?

Thanks for all your excellent info. I really like the setup. I was trying to decide between the cubby mount and the overhead and when I saw yours I went with it. I live pretty close to Geno's so I went there and picked up the stuff I needed. Since I already had the pyro on the A-Pillar I just needed the two gauge mount . I didn't want to run a wet line overhead for a FP gauge even with an isolator so I just went with the boost and trans temp. The two gauge mount just covers the screened area on the windshield and looks like a factory install. I am very pleased. I have read some complaints about the differences in the DiPricol lighting especially between the pyro and the other gauges. Since I have them in seperate places it is not noticeable.

You have it all installed already? I also didn't want to run FP overhead, thats why when I do i will use the steering pod. Better get some reader ride pics up so we can see this puppy!!! I hate driving to GA in the winter from Pa... Haaa

Hey Kenny, one more question: How much wire did you have to provide? Do you think that 3 wire kit from Geno's would be worth the $30. 00? I was thinking of making my own wiring harness with several wires and heat shrinking them together in one bundle and running it for use with the gauges and future do-dads. . Thanks. . I'll stop bugging you now!

How difficult to remove headliner?

I like the looks of the overhead and ordered mine today from Genos. How hard is it to pull down the headliner to get wires underneath it? What type of fasterners are there? Did you have to remove the overhead console?

I'm putting DiPircol EGT, Trans, Boost gages in. According to others, looks like I have a little mods to do on the gages themselves (rubber rings, cutting down the studs, re-routing the boost line.

Thanks

I wired the gauge lights off the clearance light right over the console, I had to extend the pyro wiring and the Trans temp wiring, Not really much too it, if you think the harness is better for you go for it, otherwise save the 30 bucks

If you look at my reader ride pics it will show you exactly how I loosened the headliner up, you have to pull the console and the base plate, if you pull down on the visor clips it will release the headliner enough to turn the base plate 180 and slide it out, no big deal really, the fish the wiring and lines from the A post over, done deal! Took me a few hours to do it, I really didn't know how it was going to go either, but you jump in there and get on it. My son-in-law helped so it made it a little easier with the two of us.
