Finally made it around to Cummins

Finally! 03 3500 4x4

If you want cheap, easy, Bluetooth auxiliary input and hands-free cell phone, we have these in my truck, my father’s truck, my daughter’s HHR, and my son’s Mustang. Your phone or iPod connect to it with the Bluetooth and it transmits to your radio on an FM channel of your choice.

7 speakers? Then you should have the RAZ code which is AM FM CD cassette and maybe the infinity tags on the doors (not sure about 06) you’ll need adapters to keep the steering wheel buttons and amp. Ozy has been bold and successful in putting a new head unit in.

It’s possible that I could have missed some speakers, but all I saw was 3 round grills on the dash and 1 grill on each door. Radio appears to be AM FM CD.

I didn’t see the Infinity tags and no buttons on back side of wheel.

As I mentioned before, it doesn’t appear that the Bighorn option added very much to the SLT.

There is an auxiliary jack on the front of the radio that might accept the iPod which unfortunately does not have Bluetooth, but the iPhone does.

If I don’t find a radio that will do what I want then this might be the way to go.

Thanks

Yup the buttons were optional so that’s one less feature to integrate. You can easily plug in a head unit with an adapter kit to keep everything else stock.

BTW, a critical issue with a aftermarket radio is the screen brightness, mine was minimal at best in broad daylight.

The build sheet should tell you if you have amplified sound.
And how many speaker.

I guess they have only one dash piece and your center speaker is missing.

Yeah, then you have Base System. Makes it easier to install an Aftermarket Radio.
You just need a small adapter harness this way for 20$ or so instead of a "magic box" for 200$.
They sell install kits on ebay including the dash bezel, wires, radio for 200 something. Go Pioneer or Kenwood or any other known Brand. Skip the cheap no-name Units.

You’ll need to install a mic for the Bluetooth capable units, I installed mine on the steering column, worked great. The Aftermarket radio could not adapt to the OEM mic. If you install yourself, make sure to ground the safety wire permanently, otherwise you won’t be able to use certain functions once your in Drive.

Bonus!
Something good about having a base system!

Actually, I really have no complaints about the radio that’s in it. It gets good reception and sounds good, but in this State a cellphone in your hand, even at a stop light, gets you a ticket. For that matter, so will a french fri, cup of coffee or soft drink, but smoking and vaping is still okay here.

Hands free phone and being able to use the iPod would be great though

thank you for your help

One thing I must admit, the seats in the new trucks are sure nice with all the adjustments, heat and ventilation.
Will the new seats physically fit in an 06?

thanks again
Ken
