Turbocharger on 6.2 Gmc diesel ??

Anyone put a diesel in a 97 or newer jeep wrangler ?

My bro-in-law just bought a low profile 4700 international crew cab. It has a 225 hp DT 466E. Nice truck, but doesnt' have the cojones his 2002 HO with goodies does. He asked me if I could turn it up... I looked the truck over, it's alot like the Cummins, very simple inline 6 design, and quite beefy. Turbo & intercooler look ok, but I didn't I. D. the turbo.

Anyway, the fuel injection pump looks like a P7100, complete with break-off screw on the AFC housing. Deja vu.

Does anyone know how much fuel these things can take? Will the cam plates used in the P7100 cummins applications work?

Any experience/input is appreciated.

If you can find any numbers on the pump take them to an injection shop and ask them what it is. Of just drive the truck over to an injection shop.

466E?

The 466E is an electronic injected engine with the same injectors as the Powerstroke. The stock pump on the mechanical 466 is easily turned up.

DT 466

Ok, I looked at the truck in the daylight... . It's a 1996 DT 466. It has a bosch mechanical pump, I believe a P7100 (at least it looks just like the P pumps I've installed plates into. It has an AFC housing and the star wheel adjustment plug. I guess I'll start by moving the plate foreward about . 030 and see what happens.

Any other suggestions?

DTs

I would also back off the AFC star wheel. The DTs will respond very well to some fuel. Timing could be advanced a couple of degrees. The stock T-O4 turbo can be updated to a 3-LM 466 charger they are quite a bit more efficent at higher fueling rates. I would highly reccomend a pyrometer as these engines in trucks seem easier to melt than the 5. 9 Cummins.
