I'm on both sides of the fence, I LOVE both the 12 & 24 valve, but feel that the 12 (and it's P7100 pump)is infinitely more fun to work on. John is right, the conversion brings up compromises you have to decide you can live with.
The adjustability of the VP44, of course, is it's biggest advantage. Mine has lasted 110,000 miles at high HP levels, and I wouldn't blink at replacing it with another VP44. Personal choice. That said, Doug's conversion is a work of art, and I wish him scads of big-time fun with it.

Namely, I'd like to see him hit numbers that point those stacks at his tailgate.
Agades, electronic fuel injection is pretty simple, nothing to sweat about. I learned on a 1985 Camaro Z-28, and haven't looked back since.

It's all replaceable components, and the on-board diagnostics can point you to which component is faulty.
