I have a question for the power gurus out there. First a little bit of background on the engine: I have a 98 12V 180 HP CA engine with the following engine mods: Lost the cat, staight thru walker muffler, federal intake with no more egr, #4 tst plate, 16cm2 turbo housing, AFC spring kit, governor screw adjusted for extended rpm. Can I add the 370 Diamond injectors to this set up? I was told that my CPL#2308 indicates that I have the more aggressive cam (same as the 215) in the injection pump even though it is a 180 engine. I did not ask the shop about the delivery valve size. Anybody have any more info that they can help me with?

Thanks
Steve

Sounds like you are over due for injectors! You are primed for the 370s, you may want to add a couple of degrees to the timing to compliment those great injectors! Happy BOMBing!

Welcome to the TDR Website!

I agree with "Stack'd. " You are ready
for the 370 Diamond B injectors. I
just had them installed in my 96'
although my signature does not reflect
it yet. I highly recommend the governor
spring kit with it all as well. It will
allow the engine to rev alot higher and
I noticed a BIG difference in my truck's
mid-range and top end with it.

I considered the high flow delivery
valves initially, but then changed
my mind. As "Stack'd" also told you
you will need to have the timing
changed to somewhere between 15-16
degrees.

Good Luck!

I have a 97 CA 180 hp and the same CPL# as you and I have no problem with the 370's.

So far it sounds like the 370's will be a great addition to the performance of my truck. Thanks for the info. I will be checking the timing also. It's on the list... Is there a consensus yet on the best supplier of these injectors? Also, does anyone have the lift specs to set the timing for this CPL (#2308)? I have been unable to locate them yet.
Thanks
Steve

dieselburner:

I got my 370 Diamond B injectors
from Piers at BD. His phone # is
as follows: 1-800-887-5030.

He did the research on making these
injectors work in the Dodges'.
Joe Donnelly also can get them
for you.

Looks like I will be making a run down to Tulare next weekend! Meet some of the folks on the forum. I will be in a brown and silver 98 quadcab with a fifth wheel hitch. Maybe I can persuade one of the gurus to install the 370's and reset my timing while I am there. Piers or Donnelly, are u there? I just finished explaining to the wife that it is the next logical step in the B. O. M. B. ing. She just smiled and said ok. **** good wife, think I'll keep her.

Piers and I will both be in Tulare. I'll have injectors and pump timing tools with me if you feel your Ram "deserves" more power #ad
As another poster said, Piers did a lot of work on these injectors determining the spray pattern was correct, etc. I spent a long time finding serial numbers for Diamond B engines so he could get the right part numbers and get started on it. We were both anxious for more power for our sickly Rams #ad
and we know the parts are the right ones there are several different injectors for these engines) and we also have the correct new copper washers, seals, etc.

Once you get more power, you won't give it back. Become a bombaholic! #ad
