If I run my truck on a dyno that gives a printout of hp and torque over an rpm range should a pump shop be able to tell me if the governer was shutting the fuel of early by looking at the graph? It costs $150 to dyno and takes 4hours out of my day. It takes all day to r/r the pump and 7 to 10 days to ship, test and return if I send it to a pump shop. I hate to go to all that trouble if it's something simple. But I just don't think this thing revs high enough.

jim.

Pump was done by Piers. 325cc, 3200 gsk.

On dyno at 65mph(2455 rpm) hp was 373. At 60 mph hp was 391. At 55mph(2077rpm) hp was 395. Guy wanted to try a run at 50 mph. Said that was where it felt the strongest. But I didn't want to spend another 75 dollars. Above 65 mph the hp falls fast .

I wonder what profile of plate you are running. It could be pulling the fuel back via profile of plate. Have you tampered with the plate setting or the gov adjustment? If so your gov arm starts and ends the fuel curve at a different location than it was set from the start.

Piers adjusted the governer springs when he came down for Nowells funeral. I don't know what camplate it has in it. I asked Piers a while back and I believe he said it was something he either made or modified. Sorry for the confusion with the rpm. This motor has no tach. Rpms at 65 =2455, 60=2266, 55= 2077,50= 1889. This motor is a 24 valve and I have heard that they would still put out good power above 2500 even with a p-pump. Changing turbos changes the amount of power but still falls off in same place. I have moved the camplate a few times. Again rpm range doesn't change.

What I'd really like to see is a print out from a dyno run in a 400 or so hp 12 valve truck. Then I could compare maybe?

I don't get it  Signiture says 92 3/4 ton 4wd old and tired stock work truck, so it wouldn't have a p7100 would it? If not, this should be in the 1st gen forum.

sorry my signature is a little out of date. But yes I do have a p7100 on this 02 24valve motor. Curtis I thank you for the dyno sheet. But it didn't come out clear enough to read.

Thank you . I figured out how to make it full size. What gear did you dyno in so I can figure rpm.

Just heard about former President Reagan. I am headed over to the club to lower the flag.

First of all Ron thanks, didn't know what the flags were at half staff for... ... good on you!

Here is a dyno sheet from a 97' 5 speed, these are the before and after runs from 215 to 370 injectors.

It looks like my hp curve is different than either of these. My peak is around 1900 and by 2300 it is going down.

There is a place in Sacramento called Imlars diesel. I was told they have a good dyno that will print out a graph. Its 150 dollars for 3 runs but if it helps me sort this out I guess it's ok. If it looks like the data I have now I'll send it to Piers and see what he thinks. With my luck I'll find out the pump was out of adjustment and I didn't even need the extra 8K worth of parts to get my hp.
