Pacbrake air bags and BW hitch

Is anyone using the Pacbrake air bags and the BW turn over trailer hitch? I am using the BW companion 5th wheel hitch and was thinking about adding Pacbrake air bags.

I've got that combination on 4 trucks..... 3500's DRW and 1 SRW... No problems.....

I have used the B&W for 2 years now delivering RV's and am pleased with it's operation and durability. I have Firestone air bags. They level the truck so I don't blind opposing drivers but I don't think they improve the ride.

use the B&W companion and Firestone bags, l5K Montana, just right!

Thanks for the info. With the 5th wheel the truck drops a little below "level" in the rear and is just bumping the factory helper spring pack. I thought the air bags might be a good choice to bring it back up.

Air Lift Bags with B & W Hitch

I ordered an Air Lift Bag kit and just installed it today - I have to say after driving this truck for 7 years now - this has to be one of my favorite mods yet. I can feel a huge difference in the ride - much smoother over RR tracks and really just a huge improvement over any rough patches. She use to damn near skip sideways in some places in town. It's so much improved with 20 psi in the bags I'm pleased as a pig in scat. The roof is close into the garage so I have to watch my clearance - with the 20psi I gained 1-2" height.





The 2500 has plenty of leaf springs and I have a 1" helper stuffed in there too. So she's always been a bumpy ride but still when I put on my enclosed trailer with the welder/gen set in the front it soaks her down 2-3". Even with a load distributing hitch hooked up. I haven't tried that trailer yet and it'll be interesting to see how much more air I will need to put in to keep the rear end up - hopefully 20psi will do it and I won't have to risk forgetting airing down before pulliing into the garage.



I have the B&W hitch and I don't think without cutting the tabs off the upper brackets and welding it to the hitch frame that this kit would fit - I called and asked about the compatibility and he said it would fit with the B&W hitch - but it won't. They also say 'no drill' - that's BS too.

I too have the Air Lift bags with B&W. I had to modify the upper mount also. I cut a notch out of it and welded a piece of angle iron on the bottom side to reconnect the two sides, which formed a "V". This allowed me to gain some height. The front rail of the hitch sits down in the "V". It would probably work best if I took the overloads off as I have minimal room for the bags when the truck is level but I have run hundreds of thousands of miles this way transporting RVs so it works. I was able to bolt them in place and of course drill was required.
