RVTRKN is that pictour across the river Parker AZ??
Yes, it was taken from Emerald Cove by Bass point looking towards Parker. I have been a member there for 17 years, and love to go to the Blue Water Casino for dinner and the movies. I don't like to gamble there though, because it seems to suck down your money, more so than a Vegas casino. Why, do you live near there?

feels good huh?:-laf paid this one off on the last day of 2007, with less than 35,000 miles. wasn't scheduled to be paid for until 2011. ate lots of crackers and soup for a while! with the current state of this country, it is very reassuring to be free and clear of a vehicle loan, one less thing to worry about. and also, with the current state of the auto industry, it is also very reassuring to have a relaible old Cummins out in front of you!

I was lucky enough to sell my '01 for an excellent amount and I was able to scrape up enough to pay cash for my '07. I purchased our Silverado on payments and just couldn't wait to get out from under that loan. I hope that I don't have to get in to another loan anytime in the near future.

The R/T 6 speed in a New York minute! Actually I'm holding out for a new Demon with the SRT8. (wishful thinking!!!) Would that be a street monster or what?

now im going to set up an appointment with a diesel truck shop to go the truck suspension,u-joints,etc. to find out if anything needs repair before warrentee runs out

:-lafPaid mine off yesterday, waiting for the title. Barely broke in, only 155k. I put 394k on my old '95Oo.

Feels great done it?? I just in the last payment on my wifes mini van. My 01 left the lot paid off so I never had to make a payment other that the big *** check the first day. Man I wish the economy didnt tank, LOL

I made one big payment in 04. Only use the truck for pulling the tralier or weekend trips to Home Depot. With 28,000 miles on it I plan on keeping the truck for 20 years.

I'm a little backwards boys... . I HAD my title for about 3 years and then, just 2 months ago decided to purchase my wife a 1967 Ford Mustang for our 21st anniversary. She's an awesome woman who's always "let" me have what I've wanted all these years... . Best part, she has no idea and will be surprised out of her mind in 2 weeks from now.

Worth the debt and I know my truck will be paid for again. It was a good feeling though having the title, but as Makeleman says "I'll have this truck for at least 20 years". And, with soup and crackers, I should have it paid for again in 2012.

I paid mine off last year!! Such a great feeling. I too plan on keeping mine forever... just gets used during the summer pulling the horsetrailer or toyhauler. Only 57k on her, and no salty NY winters... she hibernates in my heated shop all winter.

Whoa!

$6000 a year closer to debt free living... . !

WOW  . Thanks for putting that in perspective Sean! I have never looked at it that way as I always saw the payment as a "necessary evil". But as the saying goes, out with the old and in with the new. We replaced my brides 1999 Honda Accord with a 2009 Dodge Journey. So... . Here we go again. (She was due!)

My wife and I paid off ALL of our debt last August (Student Loans, Auto Loan, various Credit Cards, etc. ). We are 28 and 30 and dont have a payment other than our 5 year old house (and its up for sale now). It took 22 months, and required various toys to be sold. But, now I am driving a "new to me" 2004. 5 free and clear!! Life is good!!! Now every month instead of making these banks rich we are paying ourselves!! We are saving up to build a polebarn with an apartment in it. We hope to start as soon as our house sells!!

Isn't that something? I guess I have conditioned myself to the reality I would always have a car payment. I have lived up to my expectation well. But would it ever be nice to be debt free. Hmmm...

I paid off my truck the first of this month.

It was the first time I have ever financed a vehicle in 45 years of driving. I thought what the heck, good to finance something now and then for the credit rating. After 36 months of paying a payment, and 36 months of additional paydown on the principal, done with payments and back to the way it was - better not to have the payments what a nuisance.

My first vehicle was 2nd hand - not pretty, paid cash for it from my savings, got me where I wanted to go, every month I saved what a payment would have been. My next vehicle was brand new, paid for it in full from what I saved while driving the old beater and making a payment to myself. Up until buying the Dodge, I always made myself a payment for the future vehicle and paid cash. I had the cash to pay for the Dodge, just decided to finance for credit purposes. You never know when you might need credit, pays to have it all along the way, not just try to get it when you need it.

Besides paying the payment for the Dodge every month, I also paid an additional principal payment, AND also paid myself a payment to my vehicle savings account. Now I can go out and buy 2 trucks for what I have saved. Done with the credit game, never again.

I guess I could have started my own post, thanks for sharing yours Dave, I think I would have called it FREE AT LAST.
