parking brake pad change

Getting ready to change pads on the parking brake of my 04 2500 6 speed. Does anyone have step by step instructions or know of a previous post on parking brake pad replacement. The brakes will not hold the truck. I tried adjusting cable driverside even with front of bed. i probably over adjusted and wore the pads off. Any helpful tips would be greatly Appreciated.

Remove caliper and pads, the rotor will probably be stuck on the hub so it will take some time and patience to get off, then you will see the brake shoes, I'd be supprised if there actually worn, probably just have to adjust them and put it back together, if not its fairly simple to figure out

Is there a star wheel to adjust only visable after rotor removal?

Ya, it's technically possible to adjust from the back on one side on the other its right behind the leaf spring, I'm sure there is a special tool available
