I have the one out of the '98. I used the one from the '95 in the '98. I believe they are the same from '94-'02.
 
How's the rear? If you still have it what's the ratio? Looking for a replacement for my Snagle tooth D70 in my 99. I don't want to mess around with new gears just want to swap the whole rear housing out with a good unit. All my brakes, axels etc are fine. I'm guessing the one you have (if you still do) is a D80 since you have a 5 speed.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's a D70. The truck came with an auto.



The rear is good. It has @375K miles on it. 3. 54 gears with open carrier. It was doing fine when the truck got totalled. No noise. It's had Amsoil in it since @ 100K miles. Mileage is 98% empty truck, highway miles. Most I ever towed was @ 8K lbs. 2 or 3 times.



I'll take $300 for it if you want it. I don't know what shipping would be. YRC Freight just gave me a good rate on a skid I shipped at work. My ZIP at the shop is 37115.
 
Scott No disappointment. $300 is more than fair and I'd jump all over it if the mileage wasn't where it is and I wasn't so far. It sounds like you took real good care of your truck too bad it rolled over and totaled. I bought my truck w/75 k in 01, never towed anything or overloaded bed and it now has 197 k and the rear lost a ring gear tooth but the pinion gear managed to come out unscathed from what I can see. I've been running a tad north of 500 RWHP for around the last 50 k miles. I know I'm on borrowed time and am presently on "the hunt" in a proactive approach versus waiting for the big bang and then being stuck. If nothing turns up closer to me soon I may just take you up on it if you still have it.



So at this point maybe you can see what shipping to my work would be, its a 19047 zip. No rush at least at this point. Oh if you can get an approximate ship cost and reply to me let me know if your truck was an 8800 gvw or the lesser I think a 7200 but not sure.

I sold all the items needed to do an auto-to-manual conversion to this fellow right after I started this thread. The last time I heard from him was March 3rd. He paid me a year ago but hasn't picked up the parts. I have a fellow that can take it to him next month but I cannot get a hold of him. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it. I have his cell number and have called and left him several messages in the past couple of weeks. He has my address, e-mail, and cell number. All I have on him is his cell number and contacting him here on TDR. I have no home or business number, address or e-mail.

I thought I had a thread on here with pics, but I can't find it.



Feb 12, 2011 we got woke up by my truck slamming into the side of the house. Guy missed a turn and ran off the road hitting my truck and pushing it into the house. If he hadn't hit the truck he'd have been in our bedroom. He was air-born when he hit the truck. Bent both frame rails. I found a '98. 5 that needed an engine in FL. We put the '95 engine in it.

The truck was sitting where there was no snow. Basically where the car ended up. The road was clear and dry. No one was hurt. Highway patrol said he was running 80+ when he left the road. He went air born twice. You can see where there are no tracks.

I'd be interested in the rear axle out of that truck. Where in Tennessee are you located? Do you still have that differential? Message me with your phone number.

Sorry about your truck. I'm looking for EGT, Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges and mount. Also looking for a complete jack set up (mine was missing when I bought the truck), a center cap and the bolt that holds the tailgate cable to the tailgate.
