CHASSIS MOUNTED FUEL FILTER IN STOCK 2019+

WAG but my feeling is without the sensor they have set some static nominal value in the programming to compensate for missing sensor.

Install sensor get the current real time value for that location, reprogram to use the live data vs that fixed point.

I don't see this as a complete re-write of the programming that will address these other "issues" of needing giant load levels to maintain lower DPF %.

Really don't know exactly what they are using this data point for in the program.

I think that do to supply issues during the COVID I think some parts where not installed and/or cheap parts ie (maybe the grid heater ) were used. Did they reprogram the computer who knows. So will they make computer changes . I would hope so . To have a new truck with 4 recalls so far is a bit much . But to keep producing trucks it was probably a way of keeping things going . My exhaust is not overly dirty with soot but some road grime . At 19 k in Alaska and the Yukon driving it’s pretty clean. And DOF is not bad. Yet Maybe in the future who knows that

I bought my 2020 EcoD thinking the same thing. I feel better at night knowing that it might've gotten assembled better than one during and after COVID. My truck was actually made in December of 2019 according to the build sheet.

So far so good.

When I upgrade to a 2500, it will be 2024 or higher.... but that won't be till 2026-2027 time frame.

Ok called my friendly? Local dealer today to see if I could get my 2022 3500 ho aisin in to get the sensor and module installed. I was informed that I would have to bring truck in for inspection on one day to see if it already had one . Then make another day appointment if it didn’t to have one to install . Two trips to the dealer and you can’t just do a drive in and wait inspection . They are only getting two a week so demand is high supply is low. Anyway can I /we my35 year old step son look to see if I already have one . I’m creeper impaired . Dealer said some trucks about 25 per cent came from the factory with them . Maybe I already have one

And what bad things really happen if I don’t have one ever installed. Will I be sorry latter
It’s in layman’s terms a early warning device for if your DPF fails internally and passes soot. Could be helpful if still under warranty it will alert them there’s a problem and it may be covered. Other than that, I don’t see any reason you would be sorry.

It’s very easy to see if you have one installed, and I haven’t heard of any 2022’s having them from the factory.

Look at your SCR outlet, do you have a sensor at the 2 o’clock position or a plug like this?

Good picture. Will have him look when he comes over next time I assume this is of your truck and it’s not been installed yet either

Good news. Got a call yesterday could they install my sensor today. 8 am drop off and I would wait. Said about a hour and maybe half . It’s done My cudos to Anchorage Chrysler. Now all my recalls are done

Ok so now my truck seems to do more active regens than before the sensor and module were installed and the program modified. . Still driving truck much the same as before. DPF doesn’t even get to 25 per cent and it does an active regen. This is very different then before the particulate sensor and module was installed rather recently

The sensor module has no effect on regens.

The gauge needs to get to ~45% before it does a soot based regen, so if they are happening at 25% that sounds like it’s time based.

Yeah I get about 400 miles empty between regens, the system is so basic that it will regen based on time right after that % regen deal. Less then 50 miles let's call it.

Just did that this week.

I think I'm 18%-20% of my empty hours are spent in regen. If not more.

Just is what it is. Mine will even uptick the DPF gauge with the empty 24' deckover attached.

I never did all my recalls, don't think anything really adjusts this issue, as it's designed to do this so there is no issue to speak of really.

The lack of PM sensor was indeed a supply problem after COVID, and there was a specific calibration used on those trucks. Initial 2021 production included sensor but ran out sometime the middle of that year; CC trucks began receiving sensors mid-2022 but pickups didn't until MY2023.

The grid heater never changed.

Edited to fix mistakes.
