While I was putting my exhaust system on last night, I noticed that the firewall insulation was loose and that a cap had fallen off of the screw end which held the insulation to the fire wall. I pulled the screw and replaced it and to do that I had to pull up the carpet and rubber insulation. It was very wet under there. The carpet was not wet. I think this is coming from the drainage hose that runs out of the firewall. If not, what else could it be. I didn't go through any puddles and it hasn't rained. I want to extend that drainage hose. I'm wondering how long it has been doing this. Is there any other way for moisture to get in there. I can't detect any body damage from the wreck I was involved in.

TIA

John

Sounds like it is that drain hose. Haven't had that problem yet. You mys well go ahead and extend that drainage hose.

You didn't have a passenger late one nite, with a few extra cold ones, did you? <G> Carpet could be dry on top, but underneath... ?. <G>

Well with all the humidity pressing on here (Never the less Georgia I remember that Atlanta heat) ... ... sounds like condensate drain line may have a caccoon , debris , or pinched. You've been running the A/c right?

I've been running the A/C. If that drain line is cocooned, or blocked, how do I get it unblocked. Can I hit it with a shot of water from a hose and nozzle? That would seem like the easiest thing to do. I'm going to extend that drain this weekend. I don't like the way it dripped down on the insulation on the firewall. I'll check the rear brake light and the weatherstripping as well. I probably need to look at the driver's side to see if it's wet. Damn, now I gotta spend the weekend working on the truck;)
