The TDR staff is aware of the server load problems.
A few requests...
1. Hitting the server every few minutes when its giving busy messages so you can check if its still busy only makes it worse. If it gives a busy message, please take a 15 minute break and then check.
2. Please do not post messages saying the server is busy, we know it is and posting the fact that only makes it worse. Lets try to keep the content "real. "
I've been operating on less than 3-4 hours sleep each night and the reactivation staff have been working similar hours. We ARE working on it, its not a permanent problem and it will be resolved.
Last night's problems were fixed (the system was so slow you could not even get it to pull up any pages). This evening the average continous number of users got even higher and I took steps to correct the server loads.
One of these steps temporarily made the problem worse. For the past two hours the database has been undergoing a "re-index. " Its now complete, except for the search index (I'll take care of that tomorrow).
As you can see, the re-index seems to have made it better, though it's not completely resolved. On Tuesday, we'll be taking down the server for about 15 minutes to add additional RAM to the system and also to upgrade the CPU.
Thanks for your patience in this,
Ken
