I've made a lot of changes in the last couple of months. Started with a new OFE, PDR Twins, and a Pac Brake PRXB. Next came the RASP and a full Kelderman Air Ride. Now that I've had some time to evaluate each product I thought I would give my impressions. I'll break these up into separate threads to make questions and comments easier to follow.
I had been fighting with the OFE for a few months. Hard to get into gear, grinding, slow shifting and just a general PIA. While I was talking to Piers about the new twins I mentioned it to him. He said he had a cure and had corrected more than a few. When we got her out and on the bench we couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Piers offers a roller pilot bearing and we decided to put a fresh cut on the flywheel and add the roller pilot.
After speaking with Peter he decided to have Piers install a brand new OFE and all I was responsible for was the R&R labor. The results were nothing less than spectacular! As soon as I headed home I noticed that she was shifting beautifully and the engagement was great. After 2 months of hard street driving and some heaving towing it just keeps getting better. Drops right into gear at a stop and NEVER hangs on a speed shift. With the addition of the Kelderman 4 link rear chatter is a thing of the past and I believe I'll be stepping up to the OFE when it's time to upgrade.
After 4 months of misery and dodged calls from the installing dealer my truck drives like a dream again! I cannot thank Piers and his amazing crew enough for their attention to detail on my vehicle. I was sick as a dog the whole time I was at their shop and just the fact that they put up with my grouchy *** during all the mods really says something to me. :-laf
Thanks again guys. PDR has another lifetime customer.
