I like my F1 Helix 2 cam, the head definately breaths noticably better. I did it mostly to do a mechanical lift pump, which I never did. In my case I got a fairly nice EGT redution and a drop in boost pressure.
The F1 cams have a mechanical pump lobe, where I don't believe the MS cams have as they are regrinds. From what I understand the Helix 1 is just basically for that purpose as the grind is very mild. So IMO not much point in installing a Helix 1, but even at high RPM use I don't believe it requires a spring upgrade.
Also from reading the same thread you did on CompD, amongst so much bickering, it seemed that one could also order a "custom grind" for a MS. I don't believe F1 offers anything other than their 3 production grinds.
Out on the track / pull performance wise, I bet they are close. Comparing the $ to performance increase ratio that is a toss up for the average bomber to decide whether it is worth it or not.
