The PERFORM SERVICE light refers to replacement of the CCV filter. As a rule, those replacements are mileage driven at 67,500 mile intervals. I’ve never heard of one coming on intermittently like you just described.
Actually, the perform service light does come on around the 67k mark, but is not necessarily for the CCV filter. Mopar recommends doing an EGR cooler cleaning at this interval. The cooler can get clogged with soot and cause a lack of EGR flow. If changing the CCV filter does not clear the message, which I am betting it won't, Then try this. Key on, push brake pedal to floor twice, throttle to floor twice. key off. Do this kinda slow, but must be complete by 10 seconds. So key on, brake, brake, throttle, throttle, key off all within 10 sec. This will turn the message off.

This BAD INFO comes straight from mopar training guys. I don't think I would spend my hard earned money doing an egr cooler cleaning. But that is what they are recommending. Straight from their mouths. So if it is bad info, that is what mopar is spreading. On that note. My 08 had perform service light for a long time with no codes until I figured out it is just a way for them to get you to come back in to do something to the truck. So If your confident all your service is done I would clear it and head down the road.Bad info. The OP has a 2015. Neither Mopar or Cummins recommends egr service for 2013 and newer trucks. You are correct about the fact that changing the ccv will not clear the light. That’s where the brake and throttle come in.

Since this is the 4th GEN section.....and Lynx0849 has a 2015...and you mentioned owning a 2008.....it means nothing. This BAD INFO comes straight from mopar training guys. I would have to say that it is.....since 2013 was the first year for DEF pickups. Is mine a typo left over from 2012?

I would suggest getting the current revision online...they revise these manuals several times for each year.
