Bob... you're right on...

CATs drive 4x2s...

Big Dogs drive 4x4s.

If ya can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch!

Guess when I buy my tickets to this event, I had better bring a tow strap so the punk can get home for "beddybye" time!

I pulled the DDIIIs for winter due to too much fuel for low RPM stop and go driving. So far I'm very happy with the 275 and original PM combo -- but I sure liked the DDIII power.

Maybe I'm wimping out.

Simply put: the box is better because it can be dialed down or turned off then you don't need that much fuel. It's a point that may be nearly irrelevant based on how you drive and what you use the truck for. I'd postulate that it's very important to be able to dial down to near stock levels for low rpm stop and go driving. I'd also state for unloading cruising on the interstate a mild injector upgrade has the least impact on cruise control behavior. Counter those points against possibly less pump strain with higher flowing injectors, etc...

Mark,I understand where you're coming from completely. That's the reason I didn't go with stage 3's and stopped at stage 2's. I know they're pretty close in power, and I have the black body version from early this year. It's wet here alot in Seattle(incase you didn't know),and I do spend alot of time in town. Just to get to my bank and shopping I go up and down a 21% hill almost everyday.
If anyone has ever seen, downtown Seattle is nothing but steep hills... 18-21%. A box will be going on for the 'fun' times.

There have been times when I wished I had gotten a 12v for its simplicity, but of course you can't turn off the added power when traction is a problem. That's what I like about our 24v's.

NOW HEAR THIS

Summer 2001, I challenge ROB HANSON to a drage race at SIR. And I mean a REAL race, both of us going down the 1320. Let's see what happens then.

NO CHEATER BOXES ALLOWED. REAL HP ONLY.

How's that sound?

Well Rob, it looks like the cat is out of the bag! Are we having fun yet? #ad

I just got back from Boise, left on Wednesday and got back Sunday night. Look like I missed a whole bunch of razzin. #ad

Why did a skit from Monty Python's Flying Circus just pop in my head when I read "... to a drage race at SIR. "?

Maybe they would be willing to start a diesel bracket at the track?

LOL

Evan... you are a very foolish boy. First of all, why are "boxes" cheating? Are you saying that all TDR members who run a box are cheaters? Or are they just getting more power by adding more fuel? Kind of like putting a new cam plate in a 12valve? Is that cheating? Is it cause you don't have one? Second, if I thought you had a chance in HELLO in beating me, I would add Propane and many more things.

I didn't buy my truck to race... I bought it to haul a load and look good. It does both of those things. I have a better idea, which won't hurt either of our trucks a bit... maybe!
I challenge you to a "backing up the trailer" contest. Bring your own trailer tho... if you use mine, I may not see it for several weeks!

Bob... yes, the BB is back and installed. Has been since about a week after dyno days. The person I loaned it to made great efforts to coordinate a time and deliver it to my front door! (Thanks, Mike!)

There is much more to this story than meets the eye... but the WHOLE story is about to be told, if someone doesn't let it drop.
