Hey hey now... . back to your chairs girls.....



Brian Block has done some fine numbers in his ole girl... . you gotta luv the surprises that just seem to keep coming from the 1st gen trucks... . and yes, I am positive that we will see 500 RWHP sometime during the 04' year.
The top two to watch will be Mike (Old Smokey) and KTA Cummins (Brian Block)
At the level these guys are running it does require some mentionable mods to air in/out, fuel etc... . still, not too shabby from an old VE pump... . it's made a believer outta me.
To keep some things in perspective I'd like to mention ... .
On TDR in this forum. . we were and have been kicking around ideas on how to do this and that... . VE ideas, turbo, housings, governor springs and so much more...
At the same time, Mike and Brian were working behind the scenes to do their thing as well. Once or twice we had some of those "hints" pop up in here and elsewere... some noticed them others didn't... at least, until later anyway.
Nascar Mark was pushing his ole gal to the edge every time there was a dyno event. Some time before that started to happen he and I shared a couple brief thoughts that did eventuall lead to a trick or two... he did offer some tips to me as well that helped out as I worked my way upward. .
Mike contributed with some of his "thoughts" on performance during the last year as well.
He came up to PDR's dyno mania for two reasons. ... to see what his truck would do AND to support the 1st gen guys/PDR at the same time.
I had an opportunity to chat all too briefly with him following that dyno event... . class act that young man... we can all learn from his attitude...
So, what's the point you ask..... well, each of us will get/use/try things that suit our own needs and goals. I've seen some fella's you'd never think would hunt some HP, step up and go for it... right ALK, PACCOOL... and you all know who you are...

I guess I'm saying that this group has been VERY forthcoming with help, ideas, tips, tricks and more. . and, in a very open manner. Yes, there are one or two things held back. . the kind of things that produce that last 20-30-40HP to top a personal best... but, sooner or later it's made known... .
Piers has, for example, teased me with a thing or two, but didn't tell me outright... made me go home and think it thru...
We'd have a couple more chats and finally the light (dim as it is) would come on... and there ya go... .
I know this is long but bear with me... .
Last but NOT least... we've had sledpuller, jim fullmer(sp?) and a number of others from the 2nd gen group in here helping with ideas too... do NOT overlook a couple recent "thoughts or ideas" guys... go back and read a bit.
We lost a real good guy a couple years ago, which some of the newer fella's won't know of... "Old School" .
I can't tell you how many emails and PM's we shared during my first year or so, and, finally we lost another well respected brother. . Nowel Thomas (HVAC).
So, thank you to all the guys who've contributed information, ideas, tips, tricks, caught us/me in errors or misspeak, and made this group what it is... .
