Rocky Mountain TDR Christmas Party

How did everyone do? I want names and numbers! I could not make it today, hope you all had fun. Come on, share the numbers with us all!

Once I get all the soot blown out of my laptop, I can get the results posted. I will have to talk (e-mail) with Shay first about a few items. A good day was had by all. High HP goes to a DMAX, high torque goes to a Cummins, I'll let that slip. ;)

If thats the same Dmax that was at the ATS dyno day before the Truck Fest I know who it is. Of course he did not do well at all on the track that day. But it could be a different guy!

i think that is the same guy (mike)with the d-max he said he had to turn off the water/meth 'cause he poped hes head gask at bandermer race track. now he is just runing #2 +propane +no2. I asked him what power he tows at and he said he turns everything off and the box on low!

sorry but if I wanted a race car I start with a lighter one!

thats cool I guess but I work my trucks!

474 hp 979 tq box on my tow setting towing high altitude and 22k :D

My best run was 392HP and 891tq.

Jeff over at the NCPSD club has posted the results.

Here is the link

I have not looked at them yet, but I assume that he kept track of all the trucks as usual.

If not, Tim, please do post them. Thanks again for spending the ENTIRE day in the shop tracking that info.

Another huge thanks to Laser Bob, Richard Ebel, Justin Marsh, and everyone else that suffered the smoke and rocks all day.

A special thanks to Tammy Lockner (I hope I remembered that right) for helping out at the sign up desk getting people signed up and taken care of, and not letting Mike keep you locked up in the truck all day in the parking lot. :D

woo hoo! that works. just click on the link, select "open".

The HP and TQ numbers are the official results for the team/competition which officially were the 2nd run on the dyno whether the truck had 2 runs or 80 runs. I did not except computer/dyno/dyno worker malfuntions as a run. I do believe Jeff (link above) did keep all ligitimate runs in his spread sheet as it is much more sofisticated.

Anyhow, beyond what is said above I'd like to also thank Mike Lokner for his huge contribution to the day as far as getting it together and being right in there strapping trucks. Sticks for keeping everything straight, Laserbob for keeping everyone safe and the trucks moving through not to mention hooking up the tachs for 65-70 vehicles. Bob, I think you need a mentor so you don't have to work so hard. ;)

For the numbers, there were a few that were skipped as we didn't keep track of any gassers that ran. Which is fine by me as most of them had parts flying off and standing outside getting a break was a good idea. The second truck down +/- has N/A for HP and TQ as we got it on the dyno, but the dually tires wanted to slip off. This F350 had a huge slid in camper on and the weight was keeping it from staying put.

NPloysa,

That Dmax is the same one that ran at ATS. Michael Oakes (really great guy) is his name. He did not do well at Bandimere, because he did blow a head gasket on the track (Robertyoke is right). Michael was pretty excited about that trophy he won from PFI.

Not really sure about the Dodge that won the highest torque trophy. Sticks is going to take him his trophy in Denver. I don't think he is even a member here.

Everyone,

I do have to say that Tim and Jeff did a great job in the garage keeping track of everything. Tim, I think that Jeff appreciated having another guy there to help him out. He doesn't usually get any breaks at all.

Bob does need a mentor, but do you really think that he will ever give this up? I don't think so. Not until he is 6 feet under. We'll be shoving him under these trucks from his wheelchair if need be someday.

Garage thanks do go out to Bob, Richard Ebel, Mike Lockner (he was everywhere that day), Scott Hamilton, Justin (good lord, is he old enough to drive? :-laf ) and JD Myers (Ford guy). There probably were more who helped out from time to time (my hubby Alan), sorry if I left you out, but thanks.

I know that I could not have kept up in the registration tent without Mike and Tammy Lockner and Jackie Hamilton's help, not to mention Sticks. Thanks.

Also huge thanks go to Brent at Pro Street Performance, Tadd at Rocky Mountain Diesel Performance, Scott at Collins Muffler, Matt at B-2 Performance, Ryan at Blue Sun Biodiesel, Dave Jackson with the '57 Chevy Promod race car, Lithia Dodge, Ferrero Dodge, Spradley Barr Ford, Dellenback Chevrolet and of course, PFI for being there that day. The list of donation companies is very long, but I will get it up soon.

Now I'm off to start writing thank you letters!

Shay

The High TQ winner went to a "Just showed up" Dodge from Denver (working on getting him to join up). The owners name was Brandon, and he had a really nice looking 2003 black 2500 CTD 305/500 ETH/DEE with a stacked Edge and TST, NOS and W/M injection. He has done a great job of tuning that truck up. All of the other trucks that had the drugs added were not able to keep the usual torque ratio (about double the HP).

637hp\1430tq

As to the gassers, I felt it was the diesel gods looking down on them. Three of them in, two of them had carnage. 1 blew all his fan belts, the second had his drive shaft come apart (pretty mild considering what could have happened  ) the third should have but got lucky. I did not think 35" swampers were speed rated for 100+MPH.

Driveshaft

I was right there when that gasser dropped his driveshaft  Scary deal, we are real lucky that the drive shaft stayed under the truck... and didn't come out and wack someone in the shins :{ I'm also starting to think that we need back-up safty cables in addition to the straps for these extreme HP trucks. Watching the D'Max on the dyno was kind of spooky, that truck wanted off the dyno real bad!

All in all it was a great day, thanks to all who pitched in and helped! :D

I made over to the site..... Been lurking for quite awhile but like that there are a lot of local guys that hang out here... . Went to the Dyno day and saw a lot of awesome trucks. Didn't get to run mine some troubles with the wipers and not really enough time but will run it next time and got some great ideas from some members up there... .

Good to meat Sticks and Matt and hope to meet a lot more soon... I love my dodge and my cummins

Hey, Welocme to the TDR CO Lineman! It was good to meet you. Now that the RMTDR is coming together a little better, there will be lots of chances to dyno, and or tweak your truck.

wish i could have been there! i really liked fort collins.

btw, is that red drag car in the IHRA series? looks exactly like the one i've seen in NH a couple times.

Tom

cleavage.

i only saw the girls on the side of the track, until it got cold and they had to put jackets on. . That's the great thing about Fort Collins--college town.

btw- wish the nitro harleys were still running, that's worth the price of admissin right there.

Thanks for the rubber donation JJ, I think his name is Rick that piloted that burn out. Anyway he came running back to the dyno (adrenaline pumping) and exclaimed that his ricer was fun to drive, but he could drive that truck everyday! :-laf

:-laf Funny… Rick sure appeared to be enjoying himself to me. He also left me no choice Sunday morning putting on my good tires.
