As bad as it looks under the engine compartment I think the underhood is an improvement over the current 6. 4
Why is "SUPER DUTY" written all over the truck? Does the truck have an identity crisis?
very true. looked at a new [09] duramax about a week ago. couldnt believe they wanted 60k on the sticker. in a way the trucks was nice, but at the same time looked plain as compared to the fords and doges i've peeked at. same ford or dodge was a good 3 to 4k cheaper. these things are running half of what a fairly nice new home cost!Tomscreek... you got it 100%. Eventually the new pickup will be unrecognizable... undrivable... unmaintainable... unaffordable. Wages and jobs keep going down... and the prices on these things are through the atmosphere. Mid 50's for basically any new Ford (or any) diesel thats not a cab/chassis white 2WD.
Soon... they will cost as much as new Class7/8 trucks.
Thank you! I've been saying that for a couple years now! Fer Pete's sake, we get it, it's a SUPER DUTY!
Windshield, both side badges, passenger side interior, front grille, and tailgate.
And while we're ranting, what the heck does "super duty" mean anyway? I mean, it's supposed to be heavier than heavy duty? Or by "super" do they mean "fabulous"? Now there's an idea - instead of "SUPER DUTY" imagine the whole truck festooned with "FABULOUS DUTY" badges!

OK... any news yet?. . they should be rigged out and being used by now... Were they both going to be mechanic trucks or was one goiing to be a crew truck?... .
I agree the engine compartment looks like a nightmare. I'd also bet that Ford has the engine computer locked up tight to ensure compliance with the emissions rules. At least with ours we can dump the EGR/DPF stuff fairly easily if desired. I doubt there's any way to get around the emissions systems on the new Ford. They've already programmed it to not start if you don't fill it up with Urea.
Any news to report???... Running great? dead? dying? anything???
