Will take requests too, so if you want to know what something looks like, just ask and I will post as soon as I can.

I really love the truck. It definitely has the big truck feel, but is so much more nimble than my 2001. 5 was. The motor still sounds like a Cummins, and performs like the one I was used to, but with more power. Would like less muffler, but love the sound of the engine. There is tons of room in the Quad Cab for the family and was worth the investment - everyone is happy now. If anyone thinks that this motor is a sissy just because it is quiet, they would be making a big mistake. I love having decent horsepower without having to void my warranty. I did have a problem with the air restrictor gauge climbing yesterday, though. It didn't happen today, but I wasn't out on the highway either. Something to keep an eye on. I got the standard radio - planned on upgrading myself since the infinity option was so much money. I definitely will be doing that soon.

Camper weighs 7400 loaded, yes, and quite comfortably. It also needs to carry this at the same time, another 3800 lbs.

Should do it easy!

hmmmmm

well it looks okay but there is something missing... ... ... . i looks to car like i guess... dont get me wrong i would own one but i like the 2g body style better \

by the way those rims suck... ... ... what was DC thinking ?? they look like they stole them from the bow tie clowns... ... ...

Wheels......

JW, you mention TT5 option on your wheels. Did your order it with the 2-H option code, which is 17"x8" cast aluminum wheels. Gary

By the way congratulations very nice... ... .

I was, or did, then I didn't. When 'my' truck came in I had decided that the quad wouldn't fit in the back and that I didn't want a slider 5ver. I have three rigs, two I pull and one I load, and I use it empty. I also load a boat on top ( 14' deep V ) with a boatloader. ( needs to be put on a new shell ).

When I got to the dealer, another customer was waffling on his decision to purchase a 3500. We swapped. Dealer got a zero sum gain, I saved big bucks, got a bigger truck. Didn't have the wheels / hooks / protection but otherwise has it all.

It does ride stiffer than the SB 2500, but is smoother on the freeway.

I'm gonna run it with a load in the back in November and my 26' in June up to Alaska. Lookin forward to it.

MY truck has the new car smell, larger cab, doesn't wander all over the highway, quieter unless I want it loud, truly stronger frame, less spring wrap on rutted roads, no mud on the carpet, the mirrors don't vibrate at 75, lift pump is better ( I hope), immediate throttle response, starts when its a@@ bite cold, no dented bumper, more room for a behind the axle fuel tank, four real doors without getting a ford p. o. s. , rear windows that roll down, 'A' pilar that I can see around, a windshield that sheds rain ( rained every day since I got it ), doors that don't drip when the window is open without those stupid vent/visors, under the middle seat storage for a '44, wider frame to mount the 5ver pins to, better interior and exterior light controls, same crappy over priced stereo/CD/Cassette, more places to bust my knuckles under the hood, easier air filter to get at, batteries that aren't in the way, less crap in the way of the water drain valve, no crankcase vent puking vapor all over the front of the engine, no squeek in the front left dashboard - A-pilar, when I change tires and wheels, ( yes, their ugly) will have a cab/hood height 2" higher than my 2001 and still clear my 5ver, better fuel mileage (so far), plenty of power BEFORE the bomb, a six speed that doesn't fall apart, a clutch that can handle the torque, color ( every other truck was white or driftwood), looks like a truck, will grow on me just like the 2G did, its newer than my old truck ( always a plus), its newer than the neighbors ( another plus ) and its mine and its paid for, and, my wife likes it, I think, didn't ask.

Other than that I guess I got screwed!

TT5

Gary,

I ordered the TT5 with the SLT package. I REALLY like them. I was hesitant since I hadn't seen any pictures of them to this point, but went on faith since I liked the last set of alum wheels I had. I like the chromed steel, too, and almost got them since I knew what they looked like.

The truck looks like it sits low, but when I get into it, I almost pull my groin just like on the 2001. 5 I had. The stretch factor is about the same. Definitely need running boards.

Dieselman,

Sorry to hear you are as unhappy with yours as I am with mine.

The tab on the top of your coolant bottle isn't inserted into the matching slot on the radiator shroud. Looks like QA defect #1.

i'm confused

dieselman, according to the date on the picture, you've had that sucker over THREE YEARS. how do you like it over the long run? how many miles? most important, how in heck did you get a 2003 truck in July of 1999? he he...
