the crankcase breathes out of the valve cover. Look under the plastic cover, and you will see a tube going out the drivers side and then down.

No, Paintshop Pro, I painted those in to figure where to put them until Pillar mounts come out.

I am building a Bezel to install Boost and EGT into the open pocket. They need a 10 degree left twist for visibility, the pocket prevents them from having any up tilt, so far.

The front bezel basically all snaps apart, this shouldn't be tough.

white face gauges

i figured they were kinda small, but i didn't want to offend.

you really had me going..... i'm crushed :{ that looked really cool.

these new trucks are really growing on me!!

They are, the opening is 2-1/4" to the escuchion lip, the guages should have been 2-3/32 to the outer edge. It's just an error in scale.

I am cutting a faceplate and 10-20 degree offset left this weekend. I'll let you know if I need a new dash later:eek:

2003 Truck

Great Truck, bought my 98 12 valve, brand new, has 56,000 miles on it and is a great truck, hope you enjoy your new truck as much as I enjoyed mine. Acutally my wife grabbed my truck, now states it's hers, looks like it's time for a new truck for me. Nothing wrong with a two CTD family here in Northern Nevada.

Here are the guages as I have them installed now. This is an escuchion inserted into the empty cubby from behind, this spot has the dual zone AC controls if you get that option though.

I do not have any blackout vinyl on the panel insert yet so its shiny. Autometer Phantom, Boost and EGT, Jordan Brake Controller.

good job

very nice. i'll have to write your name down to get instructions when i get enough dough to get one in a couple of years. i like this interior best of any truck i've seen yet. wish i could talk the wife into one of these instead of the grand cherokee she has in mind

dieselman: nice!

that looks slick. if there were no brake controller there, 3 gauges will fit, but is there enough room to squeeze 4 in there? i am thinking of using the 2 5/8" gauges and putting them where the radio is when i get mine. not sure what gauge brand to go with though. the phantoms match nicely, except for the pointers :( i'd like it more if it matched even better, but if not, oh well... good job!

This was a first fitting. About 10 or 20 degrees of the dial is not readable from the normal driving position without leaning a little to the right to see them. Right now the cubby box is a firm fit around the gauges, and the placement of the jordan precludes angling the guages left. There are no visible mounting holes anywhere and the stock look can be returned with a $20. 00 cubby box.

Only three guages could fit here without brake. But a pair of westach duals would look real cool here. The faces would not be obscured, since they read vertically through the middle, with flat mounting. I was considering a dual temp on right, a dual boost/EGT on left. Might do that later.

The dash is just like the 2G's, one screw, snap off. The screw is above the trash bag hook. Dont loose the felts or you'll have a squeek, and you can hear squeeks in the 3G.

I was hoping I could lower the A/C panel to the lower opening but the escuchion doesn't quite fit, locating pins are in the wrong place, the opening is reversed. The guages would then be in the middle. It can be done, but this is a new truck, gotta wait for a week or two. The A/C and Mirror heat buttons will be close to the opening edge.

Re: dieselman: nice!

to reply to my own message. i was searching the net and found that the greddy [ricer brand gauges] very closely match the factory gauges and are back lit through the gauge in a green... they are kinda pricy because they are all electronic. no mechanical, and they are also only metric. i like that part fine, but i would like to see a psi boost gauge, instead of a kg/cm2 pressure gauge...
