Good Cummins/Duramax/Powerstroke Comparison

MADDOG's truck is the real mccoy I have seen it in action and It's one hot truck. He is the king of the powerstrokes. He's good buddies with HVAC... . figures:D

Anyone coming up to Auto Wurks Diesel, we have the pistons and rods from the big three in the showcase. Not that we don't like the other Diesels, but the Cummins is the only one designed in the industry standard inline six. The Ford and Bowtie are all still better than V10 or any other gas engines. They just have a handicap in the main bearing department. You can push them hard, but they will throw a rod. I've seen firsthand a Powerstroke with a couple rods through the side of the block..... seems the owner wanted to get all his aftermarket parts uninstalled, and came back to reinstall them after his engine was fixed. Hmmmmm!?!

Duty calls

Well, just to report in that my son and I (now we both have a Cummins) copied the pix and took them to the local dodge dealer for posting on the wall... ... ... ... ... Pete

Did I do this??All I did was ask a question. I read some of them posts over on the ford site. They remind me of fire ants. You disturb the mound and they start swarming.

Big Bobs reply

I read your reply to gooch on the ford site,I STAND WITH YOU FRIEND ,that was the hight of ignorance to bash someones pride and joy. .

ITS OVER

I was just over on the ford site and the moderator said he was closing the post, things were getting out of hand. So maybe thats what they need to do here. I apologize(had to look that up in the dictionary) to Big Bob for getting him to take the pictures. Hope this has not caused you or your family any problems. It was just a picture!I had a couple of fords in my life and one was even a diesel. I was the one that asked him to do it. Anyway it's over. Maybe some day Big Bob our paths will cross and I will get to meet you.

This "size of your crank" thing has gotten way out of context. Besides, I thought it was about con-rods, not Johnsons.

Low RPM, high TORQUE engines tend to have very large heavy con-rods & pistons, too. AS the need for speed (rpm) increased, the mass of the moving element in the engine (again, con-ron & piston) rapidly decreased. On second thought, the johnson does apply. Higher reving engines tend to have shorter cranks.....

I also don't dispute the HP capabilities of the PowerStroke engine, if you can afford it! Those injector prices are sky high.
