I just received an order for $1325 Dollars worth of stuff from Piers (PDR) www.http://www.piersdiesel.com. The day before the stuff was to arrive I called them back and asked for a tracking number... . Well they hadn’t shipped yet and made up some lame excuse. 5 Days after that my shipment showed up and it hasn’t been exactly what I expected. The following is the email I sent to them.

"The fact I planned a day off of work to receive and install my shipment from PDR and the fact PDR failed to ship on time only compounds the fact when it does arrive late the order is incorrect and missing the instructions for installation!

There are no instructions for the Jammer 2’s let alone any way to determine if they are Jammer 2’ s, except the little yellow hand written sticky in an unmarked box of 6 injectors that reads “Jammer 2’s”. I will call Diesel Dynamics and see if there is some way to validate. Hope you can tell me before I call Diesel Dynamics.

Boost Fooler, no issue.

You wouldn’t happen to know were the Hy-Tech Differential Cover is would ya?

The AFE air intake system received was a Magnum Force not a PROGUARD as listed on the invoice and agreed upon. Please tell me what the difference is.

And of course you are going to provide installation instructions, as discussed, for the fuel pressure gauge? There has got to be some use for all those brass fittings and plastic hose?

Gauge Pod, you told me this snaps on over the stock steering column, well guess what? It doesn’t! You either stick it on with double sided tape or drill holes. Kind of cheesy if you ask me.

Last, and of course not the least, $120. 00 for shipping? What’s up with that? Or is that tax and shipping combined? Can’t imagine a whole lot of tax and all since you are out of Canada.

When I called you I told you the reason I am buying all this stuff from PDR is because I read an article about PDR in the TDR quarterly magazine and therefore I trusted you. Well, I am kind of feeling let down, I know 12-13 hundred dollars don’t seem like squat compared to some of the other orders you probably get, but to me it is.

I hope to hear from you soon. "

Never did hear from them, I had to call them. They are going to send me a new filter and I worked out the issue of the $120 dollars for the shipping.

I am still concerned about the injectors though and the only answer they could give me was you got to trust us. So I say ok for now and ask if they would email me a copy of the installation instructions they say yes. Well about 3 hours go by and I call them back and they (PDR) say oh didn’t you get the email; we must be having a problem sending them to your address.

Well any way, I get home from work and think I will call them and get the tracking number for the replacement filter and at the same time see if they can email the Jammer 2 instructions to my home email. Well the same person now tells me; oh we don’t have them in electronic format for email we only have them hard copy and make copies for mail out.

So now I am reflecting on the "you got to trust us" comment about my Validation issues of the Jammer 2's. If you lie to me about email, I would think you would lie to me about $600. 00 in injectors.

Anyone else have these kinds of issues with PDR before?????

I tell you what, they lost a customer here and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else.

P. S Feel free to fire away on this one if you dont agree, or take it as a recomendation not to do business with them.

Pdr

Wow! Never heard anything like that before. If you want DD injector install directions PM me or email me. I have them in PDF format. I would have to say it will be OK to trust them on getting what you paid for as far as the injectors go. Sending out the wrong air filter setup happened to me too, however it wasn't with PDR.

As bad as you feel about your current purchase, I wouldn't write them off as I know alot of people have used them & are very happy. They may have just had a bad day & their bad day rained on your parade... .....

Clay :--)

All I can say is run a search on PDR and you'll see 99% of the comments are nothing but glowing. I can understand you are upset , but have you ever heard the saying "you get more with honey that vinegar"

This sounds very out of the norm for PDR, something got messed up, but flaming them won't solve anything.

Well... I'll tell you my story. I placed my first order with Piers in January for #10 plate, 3K GSK and AFE Stage I Proguard filter. They shipped the wrong filter... the same as you. Only way I knew was I happened to look at the AFE booklet sent with it and compared the PN's with what was on the box it shipped in and they didn't match up with the invoice. I called and talked with Harry Piers and told him and he asked what color was the filter... It was blue. He said the blue filter is a higher flow than the Proguard 7 filter which is yellow. The Pro Guard is better filtration but lower flow. He said some use the Blue in winter and yellow one (Proguard 7) in summer when its dusty. He sent me the Proguard 7 filter and let me keep the blue filter. I'd say that was decent of him from my viewpoint and satisfied me concerning the screwup.

Sorry you had all that confusion. I have heard they are the best for turbo info and good at helping out, that's why I tried using them. I hope they satisfy you on these issues. I'd hate to see another vender get bad PR.

Glad I got to read this before the moderators!!! LOL  Sorry to hear about your bad luck with Piers. I just had a bad experience with a different vendor and sometimes I felt like going on-line with it, but I think it may be against the rules. I still vote that Piers is great. One or some of his employees might need to be straightened out by your post.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with PDR, but I think a lot of people here will say they are good to deal with. I have never has an issue with them. If thay say the injectors are jammer 2's I would belive them. I think their customer service is great. A few year ago my brother bought a set of POD injectors for his first gen and they made no power. My brother thought maybe less power than the stock ones. Piers had him make sure his lift pump presure was good, and when he found out it was fine they sent him out a new set of injectors before he sent the bad ones back. I thought that was above what most places would do. My brother was really happy with not having to change injectors out and waiting on a new set. I really think they are good people to deal with.

If it is against the rules to tell other members about our experiences with vendors on TDR then that would negate half the reason I joined. I want to know about bad experiences and good experiences so I can make an informed decision on where to do business. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, shipping errors, etc. But I want to know if they correct them in a timely manner and are sincerely sorry for any inconvience they cause their customer. Just my . 02 :D

Well being new to the TDR you obviously didn't know the track history of PDR. This is not the best way to get things right, airing dirty laundry online like this. If I were the vendor, I'd say send me back my products, I'll send you back your money.
Never did hear from them, I had to call them.
What did you give them 5 minutes to respond?

well its hard to really know what happened, the consensus is that PDR is great to deal with, me personally i don't read my sig. could have been an employee slacking on the job or someone taking the order that shouldn't and didn't know what they were doing. If this had been me, i would have asked for a full refund sent there items back and found another vendor to do business with and be done with it. But this is just me.

I dont have to be a TDR veteran or anything else to know poor service when I see it. The question here has any one else recieved this type of service from PDR and if you look at the posts you will see I stated I might have been a little hasty in my judgment.

Thanks for your feedback.

BTW you will note I didnt use an alias when I signed my post. Maybe PDR will contact me and fix it or ask for their crap back.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiance. I'm sure a $1300 is pretty big, in my book anyways. I wonder how much time they spend on the phone just talking people through stuff that don't buy anything from them. I know Mark spent a considerable amount of time talking me through my second head gasket failure, and I didn't buy anything from them on that repair.

I have had very good luck with piers, and owning a first gen, that is one of the few places that even advertise any parts for these old trucks, let alone knowing how to make them scream. I am sure they will take care of you.

I have delt with Piers' on both a personal as well as bus. level I concider him as well as most of his crew, friends. He has always from day one taken as much time as I asked of him to help with explaining anything and making sure I went away happy. That being said in bus. sometimes things do go wrong or not "just as planned" I'm not making excuses but I would call and talk directly to Piers' (he is rarely unavailable) and at the very least then he will be informed of the problems you have had and take actions to minimize the chances of it happening again. Knowing Piers', he is all about the customer and always has been, including before PDR. I'm sorry for your bad experience but I do hope you give him the chance to make good a next time. Anyway, good luck with your new found power!

But yes $1300 is alot of money. They will stand behind their products. I mean imagine if they didn't. You got the TDR, where one could air all the dirty laudry etc, and that would hurt their business. Who did you talk to at PDR? You're correct you were a little quick on your judgement. I wouldn't hesitate to voice my concern etc once I done been told the vendor wasn't gonna make things right or wouldn't help me any longer.

I happen to be lucky enough to have a top diesel shop here in town so my money gets split between Scheids and PDR.

Lastly, as a matter of fact, I have been IMO screwed over by PDR, Mark wouldn't warranty a less than a couple month old fuel pressure gauge here a ways back. But I didn't go and advertise it, oh wait, I just did:rolleyes:. Since then more of my money has remained local.

man ill tell ya,you guys answering this thread are being kinda harsh on bassullivan. especially gilbert what an a. . ,he was asking if this mwas normal or not, and giving information, and the fact that they lied to him on the phone is enough to tell me not to purchase anything off of them, just because some people get good service and are loyal to abuisness, does not mean that when someone else has prablems with the same buisness does not mean u attac that individual, boils down to one thing nobody likes to be lied to and when they say somthing ships then it should, anyhow being a member of this sight i try not to be judgemental but i really did not like the comments towards bassullivan just because he had a bad experiance and was telling us about it,and maybe piers will read this and realise the real issue here... i dont mean to step on anyones toes... thanks

i have only had good results in dealing with pdr. bought , westach gages, trany and diff cover, mbrp exhaust system, and had them do my kdp. no problems with any of it.

I have a steel fabrication shop here in Kalamazoo in an old paper factory. I rent about 8000 sq ft in the lower level to my buddy Jon Ripple who rebuilds transmissions and supplies custom and off the rack parts for the Mitsubishi Turbo crowd. (www.teamrip.com) He's good at it and has a large following. I watch him day in and day out rushing around trying to make everybody happy. On the computer, on the phone, in person. It's hard if not impossible.

Since you got on here and asked for other's opinions on this matter, here's mine - I think you may have gotten your undies a little bunched up running back and forth checking the mail box - took the day off to wait for UPS? Then blame Piers for a no show? Please

- Eric

I may be wrong in being able to voice your opinions on the TDR about advertising vendors. Been a member here for almost 5 years and have not yet read the terms of use agreement. I just thought it was frowned upon by the grand poohbahs of this site.

Not sure of your angle

I will say that I have no problem with anyone starting a thread asking about there experience with a vendor nor do I have a problem with anyone talking down about a vendor. BUT I DO HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH SOMEONE STARTING MULTIPLE THREADS JUST TO BASH! Especially someone who is a friend of mine! I responded to your other thread trying not to be on Piers' side even though I know him, then I see not 5 minutes later you had started the same thread in other forum all I am left to think is WOW WHAT A A. . this guy must have been to deal with! Further more I would say Piers' tried making you happy but you probably wanted your order for free or something, sorry thats not bus. Also I know those people at PDR and there is no way they would knowingly lie TO ANYONE PERIOD!

P. S. If I am reading more into this I am sorry but I think you need to ask a moderator to delete ONE of your threads about how PDR screwed you over!
