Well guy's I've kind of held off on comments till I had a chance to think about this.....
I'll comment now, as an end user of products/services in the diesel sport and, NOT as a moderator or TDR official spokesperson...
The sentiments expressed so far are exactly the way I feel as well... ...
I told Piers that in my opinion he "had a gift" when it came to this stuff and, I hoped that once he had some hammock time we might see him in one form or another down the road.
Piers put up with my poking and prodding him constantly about 1st Gen stuff and he never once 'turned to nip my fingers' as he likely could have done on more than one occasion.
I'm personally grateful to him for his friendship and loyalty which sadly seems in short supply these days it seems... ... .
If there was "a bullet headed your way" he didn't stand behind you, he stood beside you... . a class act period !!
Piers chose to have similar people around him as well... .
Harry, Mark and the guys in the shop all have the same attitude about "us guys out here in the world" although I don't think Harry will be able to tolerate my highly refined skills of nagging and ragging like Piers did... ... .

Seriously though, Harry has also been good to us 1st Gen guy's (he drives a nice green 1st Gen with PDR Twins) as well. He know's that there's a "finger shaking" coming if he don't look after us old time guy's and he doesn't want to end up being excommunicated from "the church"...
I had
the very great priviledge of being associated and, working with all of those folks and I can tell you that long after the "close of business" there were/are converstations about how/what we can do for 'our customers'.
They managed to find things for me to do and kept me busy till my health required my stepping aside so someone could take over and put in full days/weeks with long hours. For that I'll always be grateful.
You fellow's didn't have the opportunity to see/hear the conversations that happened behind the scenes... . it seems that all PH ( I call him "PH") wanted to be sure of was that the "customer got a good deal at a fair price" or it wasn't going to happen... .
Finally, Harry and Mark are digging in and still working on behalf of all the PDR customers including us 1st Genners so keep them in mind if you need help.
Join with me and wish PH the best and, express your views if you're inclined.
Well, that's it, I don't want to step on any lines or rules about cheerleading but I did want to join in with you guys and let out a bit of steam.
My personal thanks, appreciation and, gratitude to PH for his friendship and unquestioning loyalty. That also goes for someone who is often overlooked and that is Piers' wife Louise, thank you both!
OH !!! ... ... . If he does go into running a fishing lodge, bring your own fish cause Harry has told me PH can't fish worth a spit... ... he's sorta "scale challenged" so to speak... :-laf
