Piggyback timing and fuel?

oK..... I ran across a deal I couldnt pass up on a TST powermax 3 adjustable so I bought it... ... . THe original plan was to go with an Edge Comp.....



As the TST box is fuel only with no timing enhancements should I also be on the look out for a timing box? Which one? Edge Ez etc etc... ... . I realize there are definate benefits to be had from manipulating the timing... ... EGT reduction, increasing MPG etc... ... enough to warrent it?
 
I very much prefer the timing of the Van Aaken over the EZ. I have been told the DD TTPM is very similar in timing values. I have had an EZ and did not like it.



I think you will see at least 75* of EGT reduction with the PM3 if you add a VA, mabe up to 150*.



I did not gain any fuel economy with the EZ, I gained about 1 MPG with the VA. Not enough to pay for itself for a LONG time, so do it for the power alone.

What I like about the Edge Products Timing is that it gets the Smoke rolling faster!! fuel delivery starts earlier from what I can tell.

There are several on these boards who piggyback with Edge boxes (DD's are Edge boxes too).



I cant speak for the VA.

I had been running a TST PM2 for 3 years when I decided to piggy back an EZ with it. Alls I can say is Holly Timing Batman. :eek: Made a big diffenence in the way the fuel came on to the truck, really gave it a punch down low. :)

Same thing Ken, more fuel down low and lower EGT. The ottomind is basically a TST or an Edge type wire tap box that limits fueling by EGT.



If ya want that powerpack to SCREAM hook it up to a POST turbo pyro:--) :--)











If you guys think the EZ gave it some punch down low try a VA, there is no comparison.
