Pillar vs. Pillar

I bought 3 - SPA gauges, wiring stuff, etc. and am getting ready to install. I also bought two pillars, the TST model and the Autometer, to compare before installing.



The TST unit has the guage pods above the tweeter, with the tweeter hole in the same location as stock. Also appears the guages don't "hang out" into the windshield area as far as the Automter Pillar. The Autometer offsetts the tweeter location and the tweeter is sandwiched in between two gauge pods.



Anybody have experience with the TST pillar, which is newer? Is it easier to install with the tweeter in about the same location as the stock pillar? Are the gauges positioned better for viewing with the TST versus the Autometer?

I'm interested in this too. Can the TST be used as a stand-alone or do you have to attach it to the original post cover? How about color? I'm guessing you still have to paint it?



How much more visibility does the TST offer than the Autometer?

I bought the TST because the gauges are lined up directly behind the pillar and does not obstruct any more of your view than the pillar does already. This alone is worth buying the TST.



It does not replace the original pillar cover, it screws onto the original. The speaker attaches to the TST pillar the same as on the original, only there is not a recess for it to fit in as in the original pillar cover, (hardly noticable though).

I wonder who makes the TST pillar? I was under the impression that Autometer was the only MFG. for these parts.

I bought the tst cover, I have not finished installing it yet but can't imagine using it as a replacement as others have done with the autometer. I'm waiting for a new A pillar cover W/O tweeter to mount it to (29. 00 from mopar4less). The TST is a very shiny black color. The texture is fairly close, I think better than the autometer. The top gauges REALLY jump out at you IMO. I am putting two switches on the lights, one for the top two gauges (trans temp/boost) and one for the bottom gauge (pyro).

As far as I can see the TST mount does not obstruct the view at all on either side with the seat forward or back.

Does the autometer mount have a recess for the tweeter?

I've never seen a autometer but it seems like for $60 you should be able to get a mount with at least 2 OEM style clips and the correct texture

TST Pillar Cover

Where can you buy the TST cover? I'll be adding gauges soon and the fact that this cover doesn't block your side view interests me.
